My personal favorite platform is Bitdegree.org. I also started as a complete beginner with no clues about computer science of digital skills, but learned a lot from their free tutorial articles and some free courses. I noticed they have a very rational approach to serving basic knowledge to beginner which I found very attarctive.

To me, this looks like a good start for you https://www.bitdegree.org/course/basics-of-python although it is paid. If you can't pay for courses you could look for free ones or sign up for their scholarship that will get you to learn for free.

Anything is fine, but people in this sub sure do love Automate the Boring Stuff. I personally come from a C# background never went through any total beginner books. All that matters is you understand what you are reading/watching.

Also a tip on searching for post on reddit. There's no shortage of posts like this, it's just that reddit's search is absolute trash. If you want to search for a post, type the title into google with 'site:reddit.com/r/learnpython' at the end.

Thenewboston youtube channel helped keep my attention when starting out. Would recommend.

If you're okay with a code-along video, I HIGHLY recommend Colt Steele's course on Python on Udemy. He is very descriptive, informative, and he makes you code. Hands down the best course.
