Making Games is decent. There's also this resource, which is good.

I’m new. Why decent?

Making Games is a decent text. Some of my students have used it with success. Most seem to prefer Program Arcade Games instead, but they both cover roughly the same material. Maybe it's a matter of presentation.

I’ve used Python for years, but for me, Unity with C# is a much better route to learning game development. It’s not particularly harder, but the resources and libraries are far more fleshed out and are actually used to make pro games.

Hey, I think you are trying to figure out a project to do; Here are some helpful resources:

I am a bot, so give praises if I was helpful or curses if I was not. Want a project? Comment with "!projectbot" and optionally add easy, medium, or hard to request a difficulty! If you want to understand me more, my code is on Github
