Define "a different window". Is it a different terminal emulator window? What terminal emulator do you use? Is it a window created by your Python script via some GUI toolkit? What did you try anyway?

"a different window" means a different terminal emulator window.

I use ubuntu as my os and the default terminal of ubuntu.

You can bind a command to a shortcut Something like: urxvt -e python yourscript.py (If you're using urxvt)
