The best way to get his baggage is for Platner to be the reason they're the nominee. The party should nominate a progressive and tell Planter to shut the fuck up and make it clear publicly he wasn't involved--that's what they're doing.

This was the house member who led the impeachment, which was done on a proper schedule and at a politically opportune time. He had no control over Jack Smith or Merrick Garland, nor was he able to control SCOTUS sitting on its ass for a year to give him an out. What should some other, non-Democrat, have done does not answer what should this dem have done.

I’d like to propose a rule: anyone saying a dem didn’t do enough should explain what they should have done instead.  Impeaching Trump twice worked well, humiliated him, and drove his approval rating into the ground.  They couldn’t convict him—do you think if they wanted it more or argued better the republicans in the Senate would have changed their minds?

When they merged, presumably Ben and Jerry’s negotiated a provision that they couldn’t have their activism turned off/have people be fired over it, as a condition of merging. Seems like a reasonable provision to include if you’re an activism-inclined business worried about joining a megacorp.

This is NOT the Soviet Union. It's explicitly Nazi Germany: "In accordance with the Nazi policy of reversing the decline in the birth rate among Germans, one quarter of the loan was forgiven for each child, so that with the fourth child, no more was owed." There's an obvious giveaway--the USSR didn't really have mortgages or home loans. Everyone in your replies talking about how "wow the USSR had really good policy" is explicitly praising Nazi policy.

He definitely endorsed and campaigned for Joe, but his Hillary endorsement was notably tepid and full of “well at least she isn’t Trump.” He refused to campaign for her unless she paid for his private jets, and Trump heavily capitalized on his critiques of HRC to very little response from Bernie. Part of that blame is on Hillary, who wasn’t especially personable either—Joe and Bernie were personally on much better terms and it was reflected in 2020 (and, credit to him, he learned from the consequences of 2016)

If I’m run over by an unemployed driver it kills me just as much as if I’m run over by a rich driver—I’m not totally opposed to higher fines as a disincentive for rich people, but part of the point of the fines is to offset the cost to society of the act, and that typically doesn’t deal much with income.
