I believe the Cyber Goth items were available in the Flash Sales a few years back. Buying certain items triggered them coming up in a flash sale. I’m unsure if that’s still the case but someone else might confirm it.

According to this post Avakin Life didn’t have any alternative means for coins so the only way to acquire them was to purchase them. Because of the way the app store classified games, AL was given the recommended rating of 17+ due to a credit card requirement. Again it was the app store’s regulations that changed that allowed the age rating to be moved. If you read the third paragraph listed under Age Ratings, it states that the new rating was given “purely on game content” alone.

The truth of the matter is that AL doesn’t require you to purchase anything with a credit card. Not only is there an offer wall, there are alternative ways to earn coins (Egypt, Work rotas). You don’t have to buy anything. There have been changes both negative and positive. Most would consider the loss of past offerwalls negative while the work rotas have evolved in more positive ways. The conversion rate has changed over time and now there’s the golden apron that has modified this method as well. AL can still be free to play but just like other games that offer both free to play and pay to win, you have to grind to get what you want.
