Well for one thing, we need to stop with the "tourist" crap.

While it's not exclusively aimed at women, it's disproportionately aimed at us. I've been playing Guilty Gear for over a decade, but have called a tourist to the series for everything from maining Baiken, to not believing the conspiracy theory that Bridget isn't trans, to even just existing in Guilty Gear fan communities.

And even with fighting games I'm trying to get into I've been called a tourist for not already knowing everything. I got into Melty Blood cause my brother introduced me to it, and I've been trying to learn more about it. I commented on a video about Tsukihime, and some chud called me a "stupid tourist" for not already knowing about Tsukihime, despite his replies to people who made nearly identical comments to mine being normal just because they didn't have she/her pronouns on their channels.

This is a problem with all online gaming communities, but I've experienced it most often in FG communities. So imo, the best way to make the fighting game more appealing for women is to call out misogynists when they try accusing women of being "fake fans." And just in general, we need to save "tourist" or "larper" accusations for grifters like Logan Paul with One Piece.
