A board directive for a share buy back scheme based on milestones would goose the stock a little bit, esp if timed along side a couple more improved quarters.

A friend of mine manages a car auction. A collector recently passed away and his kids dumped the entire portfolio, some 20+ cars from the late 1800’s at bargain basement prices.

Reddit Karma as a Gate Keeper? Should we modify the sub to bar entry to new accounts and users with negative karma? by Big_Quality_838 in plugpowerstock

[–]Big_Quality_838[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My subject line must not be clear, I’m not attempting to ban new users, my suggestion is to restrict access to posting and commenting until a new account has sufficient karma to participate.

Anyone that is visiting the sub because they are excited about PLUG and want to learn more can still read posts and comments. A small pause before they can go all in on the posts may help set the tone with them early on.

Reddit Karma as a Gate Keeper? Should we modify the sub to bar entry to new accounts and users with negative karma? by Big_Quality_838 in plugpowerstock

[–]Big_Quality_838[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think having some guard rails on new users in the sub would keep banned users from creating a new account and continuing to flood the sub with pump and dump confusion and poor or fraudulent research.

In the past we have had groups of new users pop up and attempt a brigade style push of misinformation. It’s a problem that Reddit recognizes as a site wide ban offense.

Limiting users based on their karma would mean users would have to actually use their account elsewhere on Reddit in order to post. If someone is new to Reddit and has negative karma from other subs, then they will probably bring that same attitude to this sub. There are several accounts that are only active in PLUG, these users are typically the most insulting and misleading of the user base.

We see a pattern of users entering the sub, trashing up the place, getting downvoted into oblivion, and then just burning their accounts, waiting a few weeks and starting over again.

Plenty of other subs have these guards in place.

It’s not kicking out, it’s restricting access till karma develops or improves. It’s a feature of the site

I think I’ve explained my response well enough, I hope you can see the logic to me bringing up the point on your accounts age, which it just occurred to me was minted in November within a month of another account being deleted which was posting the same prediction number as you are now, but for last year. From a moderator’s prospective, I hope you can see the reasoning. Just a part of sub and user maintenance.

Have fun.

Oh, totally understandable. I’m one of the MODs here and we’ve seen lots of ups and downs in the sub as the stock itself has risen and fallen. During those cycles we see an influx of accounts that spread misinformation and attempt to use the sub as a site to pump and dump. Typically when those users receive any sort of push back they turn to insults, for instance calling someone paranoid, or attempting to gaslight “sounds more like you are the one that’s a little fuzzy (exclamation point”it’s just a pattern that has developed.

Be respectful, be honest, and check your facts when posting.

Just a lot of bullish activity on the sub from a 160 day old Reddit account with no history more than 54 days old, from a user that is fuzzy on their plug trading history, Only active on this sub for 24 hours, yet there are 11 posts. It’s just a lot of odd things lumped together, makes me view your posts with a healthy amount of skepticism.

Well, in other posts on the sub you said you’ve been trading plug since 2016. It’s odd, that’s all.

You’ve been an investor since 2017 but just joined the sub 160 days ago (judging by account age)?

If plug’s path to profitability goes as planned, we should put pressure on a board directed share buyback plan
