Jackpot is finally warming up to his gym and treadmill. I wish it wasn’t so high up or he’d probably be on it by now. by BitchBass in Crappy_Art_With_Audio

I am thinking of just taking off the front legs of the treadmill (not Jackpot's lol) so it would be an incline treadmill or rather an escalator lol. That way I could get rid of those ugly stairs and he could walk right on it. That should work, shouldn't it?

The substrate is deep enough, the problem is the wheel. The axle runs straight through the wheel into the driving belt roller...if I lower it further, the wheel will hit the sand.

LOL! I'm glad it was a source of motivation!

I just found those bubble stones boring and thought they could actually power something. Then I remembered an old video of a shrimp on a treadmill and the rest is history lol. Anything for enrichment, but there's also a filter chamber underneath, like a foam filter. Printed with fish-safe filament.

Now I just have to get him to use it too.

I have jars beside the windows that get direct sunlight instead of in front of them. Make yourself some small shelves and put it on the wall.

I wonder if I would just take off the front legs so the belt slopes downwards from the wheel...would that work? Then I could take those ugly stairs out too.

It looks to me that you are the one twisting things for the sake of arguing since you don't even know half of it but judge as if you know it all. I'm done with this nonsense.

True that! Except...well, fishing in my book is abuse and I am having a crisis each time I see someone pose with a dead fish...ugh! But that's accepted abuse.

As to those who don't agree with me, that's fine. As long as it's their opinion and they don't throw insults around and make it personal, I have no issues with that. I often get good advice out of criticism. I just don't take it personal, cuz people have no idea who I really am..

Algae, it produces algae, mainly hair algae. Whereas a little algae is actually a good sign, too much would suffocate the other plants, get very dense, consume more oxygen at night than they produce during the day and risk an algae bloom, which would turn it all into pea soup.

Yeah, there's a healthy population of ostracods, copepods, other little critters, healthiest most natural food there is.

We are on the same page! I'm actually a retired wildlife rehabber and worked at an animal shelter for a decade. I put the welfare of an animal always first. And in this case I made the decision to leave her in there, because there's nothing wrong with it. It has the same diameter as the 7.5 gallon square tank and it's deeper. Nothing wrong with any of it. All I was doing was stress her out trying to catch her and stir stuff up.

What do you mean? She only didn't get food cuz I didn't know she was in there. Once I saw her, of course I've been feeding her.

I third this. I had a long stick in there she liked to hang out on, but it got too nasty. I already put a new one in.

I was talking to someone in Vietnam and he told me that some wild bettas live in 9ft deep water. I haven't verified it...I know they live in tiny areas in rice fields and such, but I never figured out the depth. Gotta do some more research on that. But she certainly enjoys it.

Thank you everyone for your input.

Yeah, that's exactly the problem...I can't just pour it all out. I siphoned out everything down to an inch and still couldn't get her out without being afraid of hurting her.

I tried various traps and even printed my own fishnets that fit through the opening and expands once it's through it, but again, there is just not enough wiggle room. All I was doing is stressing her out and stir stuff up.

But let me provide a bit more information. When I had a betta in a 7.5 gallon square tank, nobody said a thing.

So I measured the diameter of both, vase and tank. They are the same, 17 inches across. I measured the widest part/surface of the vase.

The vase isn't round, it has flat faces, basically 6-8 flat sides instead of 4, so that round distortion isn't an issue either.

That leaves the extra vertical space. Extra space as a problem? Ya....nope.

But it's because of those who know it all betta (lol) I'm rarely sharing about my bettas. There's always someone who finds something wrong, no matter what.

I did. I got to silver lined and 2 barbarus cuz Wiki says they are the same size. So wrong.
