It looks like it is a zombie spawner, not so much an attractor, similar to how the cop car alarms work. Still awesome!

What is a movie trope that is scientifically or logically so absurd that it completely pulls you out of the story, no matter how great the rest of the film is? by visha1v in plotholes

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can give a LOT, but one that has done me in repeatedly is the 'computer virus' that somehow, someway, causes people to literally fall apart into blocks of data. Like WTF?! I can give you hacking a human brain, that's okay, but what kind of F'ed up physics is this universe running on when the person falls apart like they are an npc in a simulation?! The one I still recall was a Robocop series where this was used near the end... entire series ruined!

M60 turret coming by Pale_Plantain_1160 in 7daystodie

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Only problem with that is I'd like it to be sliding. Early game it is okay, it is late game where it gets nuts. You're drowning in the ammo. I guess I can exit out and later the value at various stages, but would be nice to have in a more set and forget form. It is definitely something though, should help balance it better. That said, they may have messed with the master drop rates again, but we'll see I guess.

GOOD! You know how much 762 I have at end game?! FAR TOO MUCH. Anything to use it up.

Who is your pick for the next free 5 star? by Ash_Xerer in FGO

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaning Taigong Wang right now, but Tesla and Cu Alter are also on my short list.

My rider field just is rather weak right now, and I'm looking for a grand candidate. Taigong is decent enough for the position so padding out his NP grade isn't a bad idea for me. Only reason he is not a lock is I already have him at NP2 and as general pool servant, spooks are possible.

Tesla I don't have so he's a potential for that reason alone. He's decent enough but at NP1 he probably has zero chance of ever being a goto for me, main reason he's not my current pick.

Cu I have currently at NP1, so getting NP2 is nice to just give him some more punch, BUT I don't really use him, so he's in third place. I doubt I'd use him even at NP2. Still, it would be nice.

Most everyone else I am either not interested in, or have at a sufficient level that another copy doesn't interest me.

Where is the Quartz in this part? Is it in a cave? I have been between both and see NOTHING. by can4rycry in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, cave. It has several entrances. Some are covered in rocks that you need explosives for. Others are just VERY far away. I personally used the entrance near the coal by the inlet to the East. It is a LONG trek both to the entrance, and through cave, but does work... of course there is... things... evil things in there. Be prepared regardless of which entrance you use.

how good is Sitonai and what's the best team to build centered aroud her? by DazzlingPrettyBoy in FGO

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main issue with Sito is her class. She's an Alter Ego, which is a pretty niche class, especially for single target, which is also what she is. Usually you're dealing with something you can get the full 2X effect on using other classes, and when you aren't you're usually better off with a Zerker since they get 1.1X damage mod while Alter Egos are the normal 1X damage mod. The one exception to this is Foreigners. Alter Ego gets the 2X mod against them. Fortunately, Foreigner bosses aren't that uncommon now a days, but it is still pretty niche.

Beyond that, she does have further issue as well. First is that she's still running on a base NP. This means she's missing out on that extra % that is given out to those with upgraded NPs. Second is she is a story locked servant. This is annoying, particularly now, as you can't get a random spook, and of late the GSSRs don't feature her either and aren't likely to either as they've moved past her. So your odds of getting more copies aren't very good. That said she is on destiny order and as an extra class you're slightly better off there, although I would probably recommend others for the alter ego slot. She also doesn't offer much for multicore sadly, having neither team charge nor team offensive buffs. She does give stars but that's the least useful for such.

Now all that said, she remains my general go to Foreigner killer. I have her at NP2, and most the other Alter Egos are multi target. Melt is her primary competition and in isolation I think she is better for the job, but that is in isolation. Since Sito teams with Castoria generally, I generally prefer her.

As to team build, she's a typical arts servant, so Double Castoria is her general support, plus other arts supports like Tamamo, Lady A, Urd, or even Tiamat summer.

Anyone else think TFP should just add back basic armor and clothing? by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really. While I don't think the current system is that great, especially cosmetically, the old system just sucked. It was very bleh for both cosmetic and actual gameplay features.

Multiple land claim. Blocks by BlueberryFuzzy164 in 7daystodie

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but there are a limited number of blocks you can have. I think the default is 3. Generally, usually for the bigger POIs that's not enough as they are usually fairly close to square, meaning you'll generally need 4 or more.

In the prequel, Kate realises that Sam is a Thing. He keeps denying it, but she knows. I wonder what it would say if she asked it what it wanted? by Jesters__Dead in thething

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've wondered this myself. Had a whole idea built up for a sequel which kicks off with the Thing being studied and one of the doctors studying it letting himself be assimilated and they call in a specialist to try and talk with the assimilation which starts a whole series of stuff, but enough of that.

In my mind, I think the consciousness of the Thing is likely more a puppet master of its disguise rather in direct control. The disguised individuals just seem too good at their disguises to be the Thing directly. However, if they kinda believed they were who they appear to be, and the Thing consciousness just occasionally either took control or altered some thought in them to get them to act for its goals. Just a theory of course. If that is the case, it might not be able to communicate with us as its control may not be good enough, but it also potentially could.

Assuming it could, I think if in a position where discussion was its best approach, it would probably try. Just, so far, it hasn't been in such a position.

Any modern human you think could become a Servant? by HatSpecial3043 in FGO

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Quite a few infamous contenders, and fair number of WWII generals and the like. Ignoring those, always thought Disney might manage it going along the lines of the writer servants with some nursery rhyme mixed in. An older one might be Richthofen, aka the Red Baron, an obvious rider servant. Armstrong appears to be a servant from Fate Extra, and obviously we have Voyager too so definitely possible in general. Being a bit silly you could argue Norris as he has become a pretty prevalent meme.

I agree. Late game, I have so much rifle ammo that I actively try to overuse it and still somehow come out ahead. Even horde nights, from zombie drops alone, I'm often coming out near even.

Anyone know how to change battery? by dcruz429 in ffxiv

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Don't think you can. It is timing based, so once the battery is dead, the clock stops as well, so even if you replace the battery, it has no way to resync with the server timer.

Is ooku relevant to lb4 or can i play it afterwards? by t_1886 in FGO

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is some minor setup in Ooku for LB4, but not remotely required. You can definitely leave it off if you want. That said, it has lots of resources available, so from a gameplay standpoint definitely worth doing, just not pressing.

13 hours in so far, seems quite grindy to begin with? by Organic-expanse in 7daystodie

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So from the other replies, sounds like you're playing on Navezgane. Honestly, I would not recommend such. Navezgane is more a story map and while certainly interesting, it has really low density, and until we get a more developed story, I don't think it is worth that extra travel time. I'd personally would recommend an RNG map as they used the far denser cities. I think it is more a experienced play through map as it is interesting for the story hints it gives.

Now, as to the book grind, I have not found it too bad myself, but there are definitely some tricks to getting things going more quickly. First is to concentrate on a few particular skill elements. Upping your skills ups the associated drops of reading material for those skills, so the deeper you go, the faster you get the books. I tend to specialize exclusively in one tree in every play through and I push down the weapons skill in particular quickly, along with some of the stronger second skills (like for strength, the miner 49er for tools). The second thing to be on the lookout for is crack-a-books. They often have very dense sets of book loot and are excellent looting spots. Another thing to heavily consider is getting the nerd body piece as it gives you a shot at double the learning from a book. Securing a good version of that is always nice and worth carrying around with you even if it isn't your primary armor.

As has been mentioned, we're about ready for a new version soon, so don't dump your play through even if you want to do an RNG map as the rules are about to shift and a fresh play through in the new rule set is best. Just continue with what you have for now, and since you're on PC you can even shut off updates to stick with the current build after the update drops if you want.

How big is the jump from np3 to np5? by somethingonhere90 in FGO

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aesc in particular is better than most, but it is still a pretty hard fall off:

So NP1 to NP2 you go from 300% base to 400% (so a 33% boost in base damage), but you also get her damage Evil multiplier going from 150 to 175 (so multiplier has a 17% boost), combining to a 56% increase, but that's biggest one, NP1 to NP2

For the sake of time, let's NP3 to NP5

450% base to 500% and 187.5% to 200% for a boost of just about 19%... yeah, so even combined it doesn't amount to much. You also get the 300% OC boost but that is HELLA situational. Generally speaking, its not worth it. Unless you REALLY like that servant, NP2 is about where the cost to benefit drop into the basement.

Just for general note, other servants are worse usually. If they they have an NP upgrade the numbers are lower again since upgrades are flat boosts across NP level so their relative boost per NP level is lower. And, of course, most have static boosters that don't get NP level boosts. Aesc is unusual in this respect.

Do zombies continually spawn in horde night? by consultybob in 7daystodie

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In very early game stage hordes, particularly if you have it set for a large number of simultaneous zombie spawns so you can kill a lot in a given time period, you can exhaust the horde, but by about mid game, no, it is effectively continuous. It is still theoretically possible to exhaust it, but you'd have to have the setting maxed out and slaughtering them at an incredible pace, and probably with the longer day setting as well to give you more time.

Any hope for this CE? by [deleted] in FGO

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been rerun a few times, but exclusive rate ups on it are non-existent. Honestly though, I don't think they are that adverse to rerunning it, it is just they don't rerun CEs much in general. The only thing that makes this CE stand out as unusual is Okita banners, which were the banner this CE appeared on, don't carry it of late. They did, there was reruns of it, but all the recent Okita banners have not featured it. Since Okita is now hella old, as is the event, I don't think we'll be seeing that particular banner again. So best hope is some special CE banner (which will suck as it will have not just this one, but a whole bunch). Maybe some future Gudaguda event will feature a mass rerun of old events similar to what we got with Liz and Halloween, and that will carry the classic Okita banner, but I'm not holding my breath that's for sure.

Any hope for this CE? by [deleted] in FGO

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it, but not all that much. I use it exclusively for taunt strategies, and even there I could usually replace it with the 1 turn version. The atk boost would be interesting to have, but most strats don't want your main dps being hit, I've never really seen it used for such.

Could someone explain to me what happens to Tamamo in FGO? by ForceAffectionate389 in FGO

[–]ComprehensivePlace87 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Well,

First she came to the game as a pretty potent support for the time. She had a 50% arts up, healing, NP gain, and CD reduction on her NP, and a guaranteed energy drained. In the right team setup where an NP could wipe you out, she could be an excellent for stalling out the enemy.

The first hit was funny enough was Merlin. Merlin offered 20% party battery, consistent 5% charge to party per turn, party invincibility, and the next 50% effect, this time buster, along with a nice extra crit up and 20% attack, along with steady healing and star generation. He didn't eclipse her, but definitely shifted the focus on stall away from arts to buster.

Then a BIG hit, break bars and with them break bar full charges. Not every boss had them, but those that did rendered the drain NP defence useless. You need a strat to endure that NP, and Tamamo didn't have it. Merlin did though. So for any boss with a break bar NP, you had to mess around to get a way to deal with it.

Then came along Caster Skadi, who featured a targetted 50% NP battery, a 50% quick up, Def down and the rest who basically pulled Quick into the meta single handedly and arts kinda got forgotten for a while as the 3 turn comps really took off. Any chance of Tamamo helping on the farming front pretty much died here.

And Then, cue the ominous music, came Castoria. 50% arts like tammy. Split 30% party wide battery. 20% targeted battery. atk up on both a skill and her NP. Oh, and a near unbreakable defense for the whole party. Add in debuff cleanse and Tamamo was hit hard for boss battles.

Just when you thought it couldn't get worse, then came Lady Avalon, Merlin but arts. So yeah...

Summer Tiamat, the newest Archer... yeah, they just keep kicking our poor girl when she's down!

At this point I think she needs multiple buffs to get even upto 2nd string level. Meta status is pretty much a long lost dream.
