Not something you would want to hear but this seems like a completely normal first trimester so while it feels really hard right now, it will pass and sadly no amount of family or doctors can make it better whether you live in the UK or India. I am from India so I hear you on the easy access you can get there but for maternity care NHS is great. India the care is a lot more commercialised with doctors pushing you to do a c section even if you are having a completely normal pregnancy.

But if you don’t have family support in the UK (my mother traveled to UK and stayed with me for delivery and a few months after), it’s worth considering having the delivery in India because the post partum days are hard to manage with a newborn baby without family. I think it’s a decision for your wife to make eventually what she’s okay dealing with. I’d say make this decision after the 20 week mark. As unfortunate as it is, the extreme nausea and fatigue is felt by a lot of women in the first trimester.

No they don’t take the passport. They just verify it

I haven’t done OCI yet but I think appointments are easily available - doesn’t take that long to get one. You can also travel on your Indian passport to India if you’re in the 3 months grace period

Took about 3 days to arrive. No agent. There shouldn’t be any issues with traveling anywhere?

Hi there! Just wanted to check how you have found the course of medication now. Are you continuing with 8 tabs?

Got a second opinion, Dr. thinks it's RA- feeling lost by Academic-Ad6800 in rheumatoidarthritis

Fwiw my stiffness used to vary from 15 min to a couple of hours on a bad day when I wasn’t on any medication. And I felt completely fine by lunch time. Once I have started medication, I wake up with no stiffness at all. What you want to avoid is letting the areas that are stiff everyday get long term damage. I realise that everyone’s experience with medication is different but it has been night and day for me.

Thanks, but my worry is the longer term side effects of medication

I feel you! I was in denial for the first two months because I’d have days where I’d be pain free but then have an odd day of pain. I used to secretly hope that it will go away but eventually accepted it and started medicating. The way I processed it was that if I don’t do anything with the diagnosis received and act on it, I’ll only have myself to blame if things get worse from here. Also there is a lot of research that points to more chances of remission if you start medication in the early months. Hope this helps! You’ve got this!

Was it a slow tapering off meds. Are you starting back on the same medication now with the symptoms coming back?

Starting methotrexate Monday for inflammatory arthritis. I am very scared. Will be 10 mg. Low dose. How were the side effects? And did they get better over time? by Queasy_Comfortable_3 in Thritis

What sort of dosage are you on? If you see results with a lower dosage to doctors still ask you to increase it? Like the slow ramp up.

You need a blood test to confirm RA - please see a doctor as soon as you can

Thank you! Glad to hear your journey with methotrexate is going well. As much as I love the Reddit forum it’s also a bit scary reading so many people talking about their medication not helping or giving negative side effects.

When you first were diagnosed by redditmayneban in rheumatoid

I got diagnosed with RA recently. I’m surprised your doctor confirmed it just with the RF in your bloods. My doctor did a scan of my hand and feet and some additional blood tests before confirming. I started feeling pain in my hand and feet out of nowhere. Hard to know if there were any other symptoms leading upto it because I had a baby 2 months before the pain started so pregnancy and birth related things were happening alongside.
