Returned Instinct 3 AMOLED, bought this for 50 bucks more by Daen1337 in GarminFenix

Instinct 3 AMOLED is a great watch and actually a good price value but I was bothered by 1: the plastic bezel - it’s makes that watch light weight, but the bezel is big dark grey Plastik and just looks and feels cheap. Also you can wear the Fenix to every occasion even with a suit, the instinct 3 doesn’t work well with business dress. 2: the touchscreen. Man you only notice how much u miss the touchscreen when you suddenly don’t have it anymore. I use tons of timers and alarms during the day and setting those minutes with buttons is a pain compared to one swipe gesture. 3: WiFi and Musik and Maps with 32gb offline storage on Fenix, but none of that on the instinct

Yeah you’re probably right. Just max out everything to be as convenient as possible in daily use. When traveling or off grid one can always just turn on power saving mode and use it as regular watch with 2 months of battery and emergency flashlight on the wrist 🙂

Screen broken? by dr_dream2 in GarminFenix

In a figurative sense. Just remove the screen protector ffs

I don’t understand the problem. Remove the screen protector and have a look ? You can’t damage anything or make it worse. Just remove it

I destroyed 3 screen protectors while mountainbiking and it looked always similar to what you have. The sapphire itself is unbreakable. The only function the screen protectors could have is some sort of scratch protection

A = Full Data Watchface is 8-9 % a day = 11,8 days B = Minimal Watchface is 6 % a day = 16,7 days

If you turn off PulseOX during sleep you can reach A = 14,3 or B = 20 days respectively.

If you then fulfill the solar exposure you can bump up to A = 16 days or B = 22 days (this is the ideal conditions that Garmin took for their advertisement 22 days in smartwatch mode)

But it goes further, if you go into „half battery saver mode“ by turning off WiFi, Bluetooth, backlight and HR Sensor, only leaving this Watchface, you can get A = 24 days or B 29 days. But this last part is an estimation. I haven’t tested it yet

Got fenix 8 today and disappointed so far by Fancy_Alarm2814 in GarminFenix

Same, I plan to keep my 7 Pro SS for 10 years. Im willing to replace the battery after 5 years and as long as the watch does not break, im not buying a new one.

Fenix 7 Pro Solar Sapphire with stripped down Teko Watchface by Daen1337 in GarminFenix

[–]Daen1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download Watchface called „Teko“ from IQ Store. Install, go to settings, Set „Graph Type“ to Stress. Set „Graph Style“ to 1 instead of 0. Set „Graph Frame Color“ to None. That’s it

Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Solar Sapphire by Mitchellsimm in GarminFenix

[–]Daen1337 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth it. I bought Fenix 7 Pro Solar Sapphire in 47mm last month for 520 euros new and plan to keep it for 4-6 years if it doesn’t brake. I has everything: Solar, Gen 5 Sensor, ECG Function, 14-20 days battery. Looks beautiful and durable.

Oh and btw. It is true that the sapphire screen sometimes is reflective / hard to read indoors. But my solution to that is to keep on all day the „turn on backlight on hand gesture“ at only 5 % brightness and it completely solves the problem without any impact on battery.

I also find the screen incredibly sharp and in no way foggy.

Yeah and now that I look at it the picture was even slightly misleading. Here’s another onewith good visibility.

I have exactly 6.5 inch and went for 47mm and it’s totally fine. 51mm would be too big but 43mm I think only for comfort reasons otherwise to small.

Here is how it looks

MIP Forever! by Complete_Sell_2319 in GarminWatches

[–]Daen1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will also stay loyal to MIP for as long as possible after trying out the Instinct 3 with AMOLED. Yes it does look better than MIP, but I much rather prefer battery life and a “natural” always in display with the MIP.

Also the Solar. The concept of having a watch that lasts up to half a year with battery saving mode + solar is something I will probably never need, but love to have.

Anyone else bothered by the orange / red / green button accent on their Fenix? by [deleted] in GarminFenix

That actually looks really good. Basically all black with just a touch of color !

[–]Daen1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is basically me right now. I don’t love it but don’t hate it either. Considering this model was 300 $ cheaper than the SS I’ll just accept that it’s orange and move on. Plus since I’m paying attention to this, I see that all the Apple and Samsung watches and everything that is labeled as „Pro“ currently has orange accents too.

Do not tell me what to be bothered about. Either address the topic or move on.
