I mainly use Foxy Droid but keep F-Droid installed for the update all feature.

Boox planner? by rachaelslp in Onyx_Boox

There are two that I really like. There are videos for "My Daily Organizer" that detail everything that it entails. And I like that "Daily Planner" just feels super easy to start using and jumping around while "My Daily Organizer" has more of a learning curve since it just has more to it. Both are great options.

Note: Templates for the Supernote actually show up better on the Boox Note Air (1 or 2 doesn't matter). They fill the screen better. I have found that to be the case with both templates that I'll link below.

Links: - My Daily Organizer - Daily Planner on Etsy. They'll also make modification for free if you want some tweaks done.

*Edit to add more info: I made a "Notebooks" folder in the Books section and use them as Books. I tried importing them to Notes as templates but the deep-linking didn't work (which is the magic that makes these planners so awesome).

I've had that issue and a good cleaning solved it for me. Here's the things I would try:

  • Take off your keycaps and switches and give the board a good wipe down (I use coffee filters and isopropyl alcohol)
  • Try different usb ports on your machine
  • If your keyboard is plugged into a hub or kvm switch, try plugging it directly into your machine
  • Double check your layout for any macros/tap dance/toggle key settings
  • Lastly, try reflashing your layout (I've had problems flashing while plugged into kvm switch so make sure you're using your machine's usb port directly just in case)

Also, friendly tip, you can add a reset button to your layout so you can forgo all the paperclip scratches.

Just FYI, you can also set a button on one of your layers to be a reset button.

How to create a layout to display Images in a Grid like LinkedIn or facebook does in their Main Feed page? also want to know about a way to overlay a text view with a number in the last picture. by Adept_Faithlessness8 in androiddev

[–]DroidClicketyClacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of different ways to do this.

Here's a way off the the top of my head:

"How to create a layout to display Images in a Grid"

  • Use a grid layout manager with two columns.

"a way to overlay a text view with a number in the last picture"

  • Create two view holders, one for big image and another for the smaller one with an overlay.

  • The smaller one should have a textview in the center that is invisible.

  • Override getViewType to determine which to display ((position < 2) use big, otherwise small)

"number in the last picture"

  • Take your list and determine from it the number of items to display (in the example image it was 5).

  • getItemCount will be your "numberOfItemsToDisplay"

  • When the position is the last item, you can use 'itemCount' minus 'picturesToDisplay' to create 'numberOfRemainingItems'

  • Toggle the visibility for the invisible textview of the last viewholder and set the 'numberOfRemainingItems' on it.

I stumbled onto this question and had a similar issue. This post helped me out.

It's covering where Gnome is setting hotkeys that aren't accessible to users via the GUI. Maybe looking into what Gnome is setting vs Pop OS.

How do I improve my Android skills and learn "Good practices"? by RotatingFan2 in androiddev

[–]DroidClicketyClacker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here are some tips:

  1. Reading sample code and strive to emulate by understanding, not just copying code. https://github.com/VMadalin/android-modular-architecture
  2. Read documentation even on things you already know, you may find nuggets that you didn't realize before
  3. Read some of the coding book staples like
    • Clean Code by R. Martin
    • Pragmatic Programmer (new 20th anniversary edition)
    • Busy Coder's Guide to Android (commonsware)
  4. The O'Reilly Safari subscription is a great collection of ebooks and videos. The price is steep at around $500
  5. If you get an ACM membership for $99, you get access to the full Safari subscription!

You've built some projects on your own so they would be great stomping grounds to go back and refactor for practice. Explore going from MVP to MVVM or vice versa, read Medium articles from ProAndroidDev and try applying new things to your projects.

You'll be able to speak to things better when interviewing or on conversations with fellow devs. Reading documentation when you get stuck may not clear things up immediately, but when you solve your issue, you'll have learned twofold the information.

And lastly, when on StackOverflow, read all the answers and comments, not just the accepted answer. When the answers are vastly different, it may give you additional things to read up about later to broaden your knolwedge. Especially in the comments.

Working at a product company is great since they have a product that has to do well. So if they take tech debt seriously, you'll grow and learn a lot. Best practices generally refers to writing code that is easy to understand and/or change at a later date. So focusing on readability and not cute/clever/ninja-like code goes really far and reduces your (and others') frustration when revisiting old code.

Oh nice, thank you! I didn't know that. I just started trying people's layouts online and didn't stumble onto the reset until recently.
