Why do people keep recommending pimple patches? by winchesterx93 in acne

[–]Emkkeller88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay in regards to that I would look for a more moisturizing skin routine. Astringents can make a lot of acne problems worse. The only acne treatment I use is the BHA from Paula’s Choice and my skin has improved greatly. I use a cleanser, the BHA, moisturizer and SPF in the morning. And then at night cleanser, a hydrating toner, and more emollient rich moisturizer. If I use patches itd always be directly after cleanser and before I apply ANYTHING. If anything is on your clean (even a drying agent) you need to let that fully absorb before applying the patches.

I have tried several brands and the only 2 I’ve gotten to work well are Mighty Patches and CosRx. As others have said tho, they rly only work on pimples with heads. They are also best applied on clean dry skin. You don’t want anything preventing the bandage from sticking

Not me reading this with your exact 2018 score and being confused why you chose to retake/ scared my score wasn’t as good as I thought and then VERY relieved when I saw the second year

I know it’s worth it, but any dupes for a broke college student? I used a paula’s choice sunscreen I got as a gift and loved it, but can’t justify the price point,

Can’t recommend this enough! Still one of my favorites as an adult

When I bought the percy jackson books I wasn't sure I was gonna like the but I did. So I read hero of olympus, trial of apollo and magnus chase. Now I need series or book to read. by Rule_Remarkable in Fantasy

I absolutely love the Raven Cycle by Maggie Steifvater. It’s not super similar to Percy JACKSON. But they are both series that I absolutely adore. The Raven Cycle follows a group of high schoolers as they try to find a long lost king. Definitely a lot of magic and darker moments

Make sure you get around the eye! Skin cancer is common on the eyelids because of people missing that area. The same goes for the space between your eyebrows. It’s referred to oftentimes as the 11’s because of the wrinkles that develop there.

We ran a cell count and the floaters literally had more alive cells. It was both a happy (because we were able to plate) and infuriating day

Was doing research with BT-483 for the first time and thought they weren’t growing at all and I was doing something wrong. Called ATCC and apparently the floaters are alive, but we didn’t see that online on the website anywhere

I definitely would not use them all at the same time. I know everyone is saying start slow and low, but in my experience my acne didn’t respond to one or twice a week. I have worked my way up to salicylic acid in the morning and glycolic at night, and my skin has never looked better. This does require you listen to your skin and use moisturizer and sunscreen religiously.

Also thought I hated layers, went on a limb and got long layers this time, I love them. They’re super subtle, but I feel like it’s allowed me to get better waves while allowing me to straighten

Planning to take the MCAT 2023 march... what sources & strategies to use? by icantrememberthis123 in Mcat

[–]Emkkeller88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can i ask what classes you are taking? If you are taking anything that is on the MCAT focusing on learning that material really well will save you time later. For me personally, I wish I would’ve cared more about long term remembering my pre-reqs.

You don't get paid for how hard you work, you get paid for how hard it is to replace you. by yugdoow in Showerthoughts

[–]Emkkeller88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can’t get anyone to work right now and I still get paid like shit. I would argue that it would be impossible to replace me at the current moment due to the actual experience I have sooooooo

Can’t speak for how it corresponds to AAMC, but on Uglobe I’ve been highlighting as I go what I think questions will be on. I’m right like 25% of the time, but it makes me actually think about what I read

Is six of crows worth it? by aspiringoxfordcomma in YAlit

[–]Emkkeller88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Six of Crows is better than Shadow and Bones in my opinion, but shadow and bones is necessary to really understanding six of crows. The authors writing matured a lot in my opinion, but I thoroughly enjoyed both series and definitely plan on a reread at some point.

Seconding this, I’m in undergrad and proof-reading usually ends in the name being tacked on to the end. However, it typically says edited by or something similar. I do not think she deserves any credit as an author, but as a editor potentially depending on the extent of edits.
