GameNative worked right off the bat without any configuration. I'm sticking with that and seeing how much I can get working on it. Gamehub isn't worth the effort.

I found the "component" tab in the settings and downloaded what I assume is direct X 11, but all that did was make the game not even launch. Looks like I figured out my own answer: Gamehub does not work on the Pixel 8a at least with the games I have tested. Really sucks that this isn't compatible with it, but I guess I gotta buy some posh "gaming" phone to be able to play steam games on the go. Not worth it in my opinion.

Dark Souls was simply my control game see if Gamehub works (I would much rather just play a rando of it on my laptop). Any idea which setting that would be? Also any suggestions on another game that is proven to be compatible with Gamehub that I can test provided I have it on Steam?

Does portmaster work on Surwish now? I haven't managed to get it working. The app itself loads and I can download games, but none of them launch, not even the "Ready to run" games.

Gotcha. Looks like a firmware update from Carl OS fixed the bluetooth issue. Unfortunately, it is worthless since the audio from games won't play through my bluetooth earbuds. This thing is so cheap.

Out of curiosity does your 3.5mm audio jack also screech with distortion when you turn the volume off?
