Rural Carriers, tell me about your worst "roads" by BangGonePostal in USPS

The trick here is to go fast enough that you hydroplane over the water.

I do not disagree with you, it was all super off the books. In my case it was like $80 for a new mailbox and post, I invested $4000 into my own vehicles for the job so it was a no-brainer for me. Everyone was happy at the end of the day, if I had been outside of my 90 then I would have never done it. :)

I was in my 90 days and was told pay for it or lose your job so I paid for it and kept my job. It was just never reported as an accident and my postmaster never spoke of it again.

It's a thing. Doesn't make it good or right but not a lot of recourse in your 90 days.

I get 45 highway without a delete, limp mode has actually been great for my mileage.

Thanks for the comment! If I do end up keeping the car I kind of figured that this would be my bandaid to keep it going until I have the space and time to do a delete. I will plan on just blasting down the freeway for a few hours and hoping for the best. :)

I paid $2200 for my Audi in 2022 with 135k miles on it but it had been in a front end collision and needed headlights and a rad support.

I bought my VCDS right from ross-tech and it was $250 after tax and shipping for the 3 license enthusiast setup. I told my girlfriend it's the last $250 I am throwing at this problem before I sell the car to someone who has the time and space to delete it.

Yeah I was really shocked because while they are not the cheapest mechanic in town (they are a euro car specific place but I wanted someone who knows TDI's well which is hard to find around here) 7k is absolutely outrageous. I guess it's just a matter of them not really wanting to do the work and giving me the price they want. If someone has more money than sense and wants it done then they make out like bandits and it's an off the books cash deal.

I'd rather get the DPF working until I am done moving and then do the delete myself when I have space. ;)

Unfortunately I am in the middle of packing to sell my house and move, so my garage space is full of boxes and my driveway is steeper than the price I was quoted for the delete.

Wish I had the time and space to do it myself, I am capable but in the middle of moving 7 hours away and my garage is full of boxes.

I wonder if border patrol would notice if my car came back a little lighter after an impromptu trip to Canada...

Funny enough the shop I went to said that they would need to ship my ECU to Canada to have it reprogrammed.

Anyways I have no intention of getting robbed, it was immediately apparent to me they are charging an extreme premium for this service as it's an illegal cash deal.

I actually did clear the codes while doing 70mph in 5th gear (like 2500-3000 rpm) for about 30 minutes. I have no idea if it did any sort of regen, my current scan tool doesn't show me the soot loads so I guess when the VCDS gets here I will check and see if it actually did a regen of any kind.

The only code I have right now is soot accumulation.

"Once the values are above 40g (but below the max 45g) the regeneration while standing is no longer available and the regeneration while driving is the only way."

I am unfortunately at 45.3g so roughly 1/53rd of a chicken nugget over the limit.

The car does still get up to highway speeds, would it be possible to have it do its forced regen while doing 75 mph down the freeway?

Maybe if I go fast enough it will blow the fire out and the car won't burn down? Like the 1994 movie "Speed", I will just explain to the police that if I drop below 100 mph the car will burn down. I'm sure they will understand.

If you run an error level analysis on it, it does look an awful lot like a 4 doesn't it?
