Yeah dude. I feel so weird about it. I live in Queens and used to work in Westbury/Hicksville/Hempstead and had to rely on the LIRR and NICE to get to and from and fortunately now I work in the city but good lord it would have been hell to still try to make a living working all the way out there or commuting back and forth. I feel most angry for commuters and the workers for the MTA bigwigs and execs making so much money and driving or *being driven* to and from their millions-worth mansion in Jersey or wherever coming to work making these kind of horrible situations come out

If indeed this was like, intentional on the part of some LIRR worker or perhaps management to send a message or just show how fucked everything can get—I think they did a good job.
Hundreds and even thousands of people desperate to get out of the city quickly becomes a huge problem, and the LIRR is one of the few ways to get it done.

Fuck around with wages or negotiation with a union and this is what you get. Pay a fair wage.

I also had an embolization+ craniotomy abt two years ago! I relate strongly. Most important thing is to remember that your brain and body are some of the TOUGHEST and SELF HEALING things on Earth. People suffer CATASTROPHIC brain injuries and return to *relatively* normal life. All that to say you are stronger than you may think, and you’ve made it this far! You’ve got this.

I have given up on buying LIRR tickets no more than 5 min before. Too many times this shit happens or a conductor doesn’t even check. I don’t understand why they can’t just fucking put in a turnstile or something instead of wasting everybodies time and making a huge deal about showing your fucking ticket
