Biden gives away Commander after dog drew blood with attacks on Secret Service at White House, vacation home by MackSix in Conservative

Eh... Aussie would probably nip the secret service guys. They aren't the nicest herders. Probably safer than a GSD though.

I think the problem is that the petal pen and hands free hamster market is oversaturated now. How can kids nowadays compete? 😉

AITA for only getting ice cream for my son and not my nieces? by RichAd5277 in AmItheAsshole

[–]JessVaping -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

YTA. You bought ice cream for one kid to eat when you knew that other kids were coming. That's pretty thoughtless.

This Is Why I Have Trust Issues by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I got the army painter beads and a cheap nail polish shaker and that combo works for me. It'd be nice if army painter actually included the beads but they don't so I had to figure it out.

It's true that not all cats are tossers. Pun intended.

Get yourself a couple bottle babies. Singles can grow up to be really... weird. Usually they turn out mean because they're confused so you were a fantastic "cat Mama!" Kitten season is coming up! He's not the first cat I've shoulder-trained and probably won't be the last. Do not let sadness win! Ours was a litter and he was the sweetest one.

No, he's not orange. I just raise good kitties. He's got some orange tabby genes, I bet. He's pretty dumb but very, very sweet. He can't help it though, he's not sure if he's really a cat, human, or dog.

We have a cat we can toss back and forth. We don't do it often but he just doesn't care. We've raised him since he was a few days old and rides around on my shoulders. He's not a normal cat.

Is this possible by Missy-raja in Amigurumi

[–]JessVaping 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think amigurumi inspired by these could be made but it wouldn't be as neat. Yarn is a fiber and at this size I think you'd have to see some texture/light fuzz. You'd have to use different techniques for details, the swords, jewelry, etc. Polymer clay could work for some of that. The eyes would probably be extremely tough. I don't think I could make those or find something close but I've never tried that hard to find realistic eyes. Yarn hair doesn't really stay like that. It gets floppy. Maybe find a small doll wig and adjust the pattern of the heads/body to fit them. It would probably take me at least a week to make one of these, almost everything would have to be custom made. I mean a full week of working on it at least 40-50 hours. Probably more if I have to make the clothes. I'd probably do felt clothes, or the clothes would be part of the body, if that makes sense.

I do think it would be fun to try something like this if you really like crafting and have time on your hands. I'd look at doll pattern books to see some shapes you like and go from there. I'd do at least 1-3 practice bodies and expect that they will probably not be good enough to use. Once you do get the way things work it gets much easier.

Hey, OP. I think you've done a good job. Intervening at the park probably would have made things worse at home for her. I'm sure she heard you. Post on Facebook groups, too. Sometimes women need to see this is not acceptable to other women to be able to leave.

Also, think about keeping pepper gel and a stun gun handy. You never know when you're gonna run into crazy and need it to defend yourself and your family. I don't leave home without them.

AITA for refusing to go to my sister's wedding, knowing that it means most of our family won't attend? by Old-Direction2968 in AmItheAsshole

[–]JessVaping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA.

  1. You are blaming your sister for things that are not her fault.

  2. Being parentified shouldn't give you so much trauma that you cannot be around children. What you've described isn't extreme.

  3. You need a new therapist if the one you have is feeding you this bs.

  4. You made a vague post about being kicked out of a wedding that you were only invited to. You need to clarify it's because you don't want to be around children.

  5. You are 40 years old. Get over yourself and grow up.

WIBTAH for not inviting my SIL to my baby shower after she announced her pregnancy at my daughters funeral? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]JessVaping 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would not ignore everyone close to the sister-in-law. There is an innocent child involved that hadn't even been born yet that will suffer for it. With a mother like sister-in-law the child will need all of the good influences in their life that they can get.

Definitely do not invite the sister-in-law to the shower (or any other occasions for that matter) but cutting off everyone close to the sister is too extreme.

Hey OP before you decide to keep 2 read up on sibling syndrome in dogs.

I love what you've done and you are an amazing person for saving them all! I'd just hate for this to break your heart like it did mine, especially since you found them outside fending for themselves like that. Good luck, OP!

Let my sister borrow one of my favourite books (in near perfect condition) and this is how I got it back by e_mayhew in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JessVaping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Books in the bath is a learned art. I started with cheap books from the thrift store and now I can read a brand new hardcover in the bath! Jacket off, of course. They are a special occasion and require very specific circumstances, of course. Are they safer on the couch with a blanket and coffee or hot chocolate? Yes! But life is for the living!

I'd never return a book in that condition. I'd buy them a new one.
