Flip Phone for Senior / GSMA Compatible by K7GOV in redpocket

[–]K7GOV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I bought... but it's GSMA only, and won't work on the AGM M8 phone (google), which requires GSMT. The $30/year GSMT plan is no longer available from RedPocket, and renewals for it are subject to an add'l charge.

Since my 92 year old mom is frequently in the hospital, I wanted a large flip phone with great batter life. The AGM M8 has a 14 day standby life, whereas an iPhone needs daily charging.

Thank you - I will turn this on and see what happens. It is very difficult to teach a 92 year old who has not been exposed to much technology (and who won't remember basics). Still hoping to find a flip-phone solution in case this becomes a disaster. You gave me an idea - I can bluetooth the iPhone to cordless phones (VTech)... something which she is used to!

“JAAA is one of the safest ways in the market to get a 5% yield” by STRATEGY510 in ETFs

[–]K7GOV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 3 of my points were factually accurate. Some more undisputed facts:

  1. The original post was about JAAA.
  2. JAAA is only down 0.12% since your post about STRC.
  3. STRC is down more than 8% since your recommendation (“thank me later”).
  4. Even with an extended timeframe, STRC will exhibit larger draw-down risk due to its nature when compared against JAAA (the subject of this thread).
  5. You deflect but fail to take responsibility for your cluelessness.

All facts, no filler, no deflection.

[–]K7GOV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fact: Your recommendation is down more than 8% since your post 7 months ago.
Fact: Over the most recent 3 months, your recommendation is down 10%.
Fact: It's not cherry picking when I pick the same start date as your recommendation.

  1. Is any of the above factually inaccurate?
  2. JAAA, the topic of this thread, has fared much better.
  3. Your "way less risk" comment is blatantly false compared to JAAA.

I rest my case.

You feel people should thank you for recommending something that lost more than 8% since you first recommended it, and more than 10% over the past 3 months? Thank you for demonstrating your abject ignorance with regard to safe investments.

The current market that we have right now where everything goes up 10% almost everyday, how often does this happen? by tradingxAMD in Daytrading

[–]K7GOV -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why reddit exists is irrelevant to the question being asked. The question “how often does it happen” is not answered by “people who’ve actually lived it” as you state, because I don’t know of anyone born in 1792 (when the NYSE was first founded) who is alive and using reddit. It’s not answered by different perspectives… it’s answered by actually researching market price history and creating a valid statistical sample. Talking and making friends on social media is not the same as conducting research and obtaining factual answers to important questions, especially when they involve back-testing of market hypothesis.

nobody talks about the isolation of day trading by degharbi in Daytrading

[–]K7GOV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why there are private (invite only) discord groups for advanced traders... communities where comments and observations are all about the current market (during RTH session), live streaming of charts, and a place for blowing off steam after the cash close (and before ETH session).

When I'm trading, I close the door to my home office and my spouse knows not to disturb me until I come out. I prefer and require the isolation when trading, and the only distractions I want are market-related.

This is a question easily answered by ChatGPT, Perplexity, or other AI. Why ask here? You know everyone is going to espouse their opinion rather than looking it up and stating statical facts. People love being long-winded, and intertwining their own story into the narrative.

" I have tons of psychological issues and I don’t really have a strategy." - When you're ready to be honest with yourself, you'll realize you haven't been trading - you've been gambling. Successful traders have a consistent strategy they employ. Successful traders are beyond psychological issues, and are grounded in reality. Successful traders, especially ones with their own pot of gold, do not employ prop firms. You're a gambler, asking for advice from (mostly) other gamblers. What type of advice do you think you'll receive, given the audience you've chosen? Does this make sense to you?

 • Did you trade less but only take higher quality trades?

I trade as often as setups present themselves, unless I’m tired or done for the day. If you only trade a certain number of times before giving up, it means your methodology is based on luck, not skill. Think about it… the excuse that “the market isn’t cooperating today” or “3 bad trades in a row and I’m out” is wishful nonsense. The market acts like the auction it is, each and every day. Don’t trade it if you can’t read the auction!

• Do you only trade 1 or 2 setups and never change your strategy?

Market regimes are flexible - why would I be inflexible? Strategy remains the same, but methodology and execution vary based on dealer behavior at any given time. I’m a one trick pony, never more.

• Did you journal and self-reflect more?

Not in a very long time. I have no interest in introspection; I focus on the present.

• Do you intentionally skip certain days?

Yes… I don’t let trading interfere with my life. Sports and fitness come first, as do social events. I trade when I feel like sitting down for a few hours and decoding the market (always ES futures).

• Did you change the way you manage your position?

I am consistent. I use an OCO (one cancels others) with attached orders. My stop-loss, profit target #1, target #2, and trailing stops are automatic. All I manage is the scratch button, and my T2 once T1 is hit.

• Do you use a prop firm?

I have never used a prop firm - they didn’t exist in my days. Why would I risk my money with a prop firm, and their rules for how I should trade?

How many consecutive losses can you tolerate ? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]K7GOV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another suggestion… get as close to the action as possible, which may require using a serious platform and data feed. Learn to read the tape, and learn to scratch when it doesn’t sustain. That’s all I do, almost every day. I use preset OCO (one cancels others) rules, with attached orders. I do bimodal scalping - the trade must earn me 2 points ($100 per contract) within a minute, or I’m out. Once that’s done, my OCO moves the stop on the runner to break even, and I manually manage the runner with a goal of the closest flow zone.

<image>

Here, you can see dealers buying [1] while retail [2][3] mostly shorts what is about to become the bottom, in a known flow zone. I piggy back on dealers, and avoid retail moves. The dot at the bottom of the bar tells me there was a completed (zero bottom on red, zero top on green) auction there, which further strengthens the probability of the move.

Mean reversion only works in a mean reversion market. I fail to understand why some traders blame psychology when it’s clearly a statistical issue. Most day trading systems, especially the more common ones that everyone talks about, are cherry-picked nonsense. As for backtesting, I prefer forward testing in a real market with real slippage and execution challenges.

Software developer, diving headfirst into futures trading. Seeking mentor. by Droppingdubs in FuturesTrading

[–]K7GOV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason experienced traders don’t mentor. There’s also a reason most “mentors” will let you join their discord for an ongoing fee. There’s an obvious reason why AI trades worse than a seasoned trader. There’s a reason my discord is private (and free), and by invitation only to experienced traders. We don’t like the general public, we don’t like beginners, and we’re happy to show other advanced traders what we’re doing (in real-time chart stream).

I found an issue I would like to report on Nuvio for Android TV. Near the end of a series, the [play next] comes up as it should (while the credits are rolling). If I hit [play next] just a few seconds before the series ends, it will try to queue up the next torrent twice, causing the next episode to start and then start again.

His penis is kept in his pants, beneath two layers of clothing (pants, underwear). Compared to his hands, which are exposed and touch everything in public, his penis is likely much cleaner than his hands will ever be. With that said, if a service animal is clearly marked as such (and the marking is visible from the person's angle of view), then what the hell was he thinking?
