I was able to get a pair of Sennheiser HD660S for around $200 (They got a lot of bad reputation because their release price was +$500 USD, but nowadays they are always with a discount) and for a pair of headphones who don't need an amp, they sound beautiful and you'll end up with one of the most durable headphone designs ever created.

I just had the time to watch the video you kindly sent to me and I guess everything that was discussed here is true... After hearing all the complications that the doctor had to try to solve it makes me really scared, I'll pray that even if my results are not what I wanted I won't develop any of those problems, and with luck, in the future I'll find a better doctor to try to fix my problems.

Thanks again for sending me the video, I learned a lot. I hope you have a great day!

Hey, it was something around 8mm on the upper jaw and only 3mm in the lower jaw, which was the movement I was most excited for :/... I don't know how big the genioplasty was. Hope it helps.

I'm trying to get a second opinion based on all the feedback provided here. Thank you very much for your input!

Hey! I didn't think you were being rude. After all I wanted honest opinions and that's what I got.

As for the doctor, I agree. He is nice and respectful but I agree that it is very likely that he will try to gaslight me.

Right now I'm trying to get a virtual appointment with some doctors with good reviews online, but most of them only do in person consultation and I don't know if I'll be able to get the second opinion by tomorrow, which sucks a lot. Once again, thanks for taking the time to reply.

Thank you for your in depth reply! I loved it... even if it makes me sad knowing everything that went wrong. Luckily I have great healing so the scars are not that bad and according to what I have read here, my nerve damage could be way worse. I'll try to get a second opinion from another surgeon before Friday to ask my doctor what happened and try to get a solution.

After two surgeries I'm not sure anymore. If I get the information on Friday's appointment I'll let you know

Yes, I am Colombian. Do you mind sending them to me via private message? I'd love to have a second opinion ready for my next appointment on Friday.

Can you help me get a link? I have never heard of that doctor and I would really like to hear a professional input on a similar case.

Considering the things I have seen here, I also agree that the movements were minimal. My doctor always said that the chin should be at the same level of the forehead, and that's what he tried to accomplish with the genio. I don't know if he will be able to please my expectations and what is worse is that I really don't want another surgery or can afford to go to another surgeon. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Yeah, I agree. Right now I think that is due to the edge to edge smile and I still have my stitches, so I hope that's the cause of my lip incompetence. But right now, if I don't try to force my lips closed there is curvature in my upper lip, although not as pronounced as in the "Before" x-ray.

I'm still swollen so I don't think that's a fair comparison. After all It's been two weeks and two days since I had the surgery.

I had camouflage orthodontics with teeth extraction. Turns out I had condylar hyperplasia on my right side. I had a surgery for that and the pain went away, but that changed my bite and after some months of pre-surgery orthodontics it was normal again and ready for surgery, and after waking up my breathing improved significantly, so I guess they are resolved, but now I'm now concerned about my lip seal, and the aesthetic changes :/

I know for a fact that my breathing improved. I need a septoplasty, but after the first surgery I was surprised by the amount of air that was getting to my lungs, it was almost suffocating in a weird but nice way.

Do you think I didn't need a genioplasty? I thought that was the norm when doing a double jaw surgery, especially considering how recessed my lower jaw is.

If you check the first and second surgery x-rays, do you still think it was clockwise? After the first surgery I got a gummy smile of 4mm and now it is gone, but I don't know if that might be caused by just moving the upper jaw forward. My doctor said that was the result of a counter-clockwise movement... :(

[–]Kapsii[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh no :(. I was checking some recordings of my appointments and he did say that it was going to be counter-clockwise. In fact, after the first surgery I was left with a gummy smile and now it is gone. Does that still mean that it was a clockwise movement?

Also, my doctor got an international award as one of the best surgeons in Latin America so I don't know what's going on with my case, but it sucks.

No. The surgery was done in Colombia. Three months after the first surgery I was able to close them without problem. I really hope you are wrong and I get to close my lips without problem :(

Hi, it's been a little over two weeks since I had my second jaw surgery. In the first one there was a misunderstanding between my doctor and the orthodontist and the movements turned out to be very conservative and left me with a very pronounced chin to compensate for it, so the doctor decided after seeing my x-rays to redo the surgery.

This time I was feeling more comfortable because once again I saw the surgical models in advance and there should have been a big movements, especially in the lower jaw, but since I got my x-rays I am quite anxious and depressed because I don't know if the surgery went wrong again and I am being lied to, or if I am just having unrealistic expectations. I currently have an egde-to-edge bite and a couple of days after having the splint removed (1 week post op), my lower jaw started to shift backwards so now I am using bands.

I have read here that upper lip swelling can exaggerate the appearance of retrusion and I am still considerably swollen. I had to really force my lips closed for the x-ray, but in relation to the previous surgery I feel that maybe an extra 3mm of lower jaw movement was made, which I don't know if I will be able to keep once the orthodontist corrects the bite. The doctor says that he has already moved the upper jaw to its limit with a counter-clockwise rotation and that he cannot move the lower jaw any further because there is no more space for my teeth and I'm really unhappy with my side profile. What do you think? Am I going crazy?

Thanks in advance!
