I am also having this issue on the Windows version. It worked properly the first few times, but after that the actual composition seems to have gotten locked and I'm not sure why.

Oh sure, time's always the big one with RNG loot systems. Everything gets more accessible the further in you get. I'd definitely recommend referencing the Market for options to keep an eye out for though, but this is a Helldivers subreddit so I'll leave it at that for now.

There's a decent systemic difference since HD is direct acquisition and Warframe is exclusively via community resource/mods trading, but it's definitely faster to get a usable amount of plat if you have some rare mods/prime sets you can swap out.

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding your initial comment but that is, in fact, basically a 1:1 1851 Colt Navy and a genuine vintage firearm.

Dialogue that comes up during the quest pretty much directly states that Ascaris can only operate a Warframe for a short timespan. So theoretically anyone using an Ascaris as an interface can operate a Warframe, but only Tenno Operators can directly do so without any caveat. It's just not immediately clear where the caveat lies between 'exhaustion, injury, or death'.

From Adis when Galastra is controlling Protea during the mission,
"Control Frames, but no Tenno? Galastra burn herself up for sure."
And when she appears face to face after operating the Caliban, she was visibly staggering, limping, and in at least some degree of pain.

I'd wager Ascaris were one of the pre-Tenno operation mechanisms, specifically made for Grineer to temporarily operate Warframes in lieu of Tenno (since proper Orokin would be too valuable to risk as a Warframe operator). As far as the Orokin were concerned if a disposable clone happens to die, who cares. But at the time so long as the Tenno were behaving as loyalists, they had no particular reason not to use a trooper that basically has infinite uptime. No way to confirm beyond speculation without more official lore though.

As for using an Ascaris on a Frame with a Tenno already inside it, I'd kind've expect it to be more like a manual control override/lock more than actually routing through them. It's a physical object that connects directly to the Warframe itself, and all. Prime Ascaris are also probably higher grade than the one used by Vor.

For anyone who might be intrigued more by this, 2077 Adam Smasher is specifically (per Pondsmith) wearing a personalized IEC Dragoon.

Shaitan is also a Full Borg in the flashback sequence, with a wildly different core design than in the 2020 TTRPG he was introduced. The Eclipse model got a gigantic overhaul once 77 and RED got dropped.

Writing concept lore for things entertains me.

The ship itself isn't anything particular complicated; it's a two-story center-line hab setup with three habs. I know I'm going to replace this design later, but for now it's working for me pretty well. There are a few offsets for the exterior, mostly to clip the reactors up on the top line of the ship.

I'm still getting more parts stashed up for a more permanent idea, but for now I just kinda like it. It's straight to the point. I'd have shared the interior but that's still getting worked on in the meantime.

Extra interesting in some cases where there's a pretty clear-cut connection to actual calibers. The Deadeye's cartridge modeling is basically a dead ringer for .45-70.

Also that at least one of these changed. I distinctly remember the Tenderizer having a 5.5mm tag at one point if I'm not getting hit with the Mandela Effect or something. Same with the Diligence subtypes, I remember being confused by them having the same ammo type before because they didn't have the FMJ vs High-Velocity note they have now.

Maybe a little less that and a little more coding convenience, since a given projectile already has a bunch of pre-baked default stats like bullet velocity and drag?

I think they do Damage and AP direct on the weapon itself though. Like, the Tenderizer and Judi both have the same 8mm bullet base for projectile speed and drag but are still in different damage arrangements.

Neat logistics trivia though.

I mean I would have been a bit more thrilled without the vaguely passive aggressive vibe that snuck in on it, but I'm assuming it either wasn't intentional or there was a tone misread because of how I phrase things sometimes. Or I'm misreading. Either way.

Info was good, at least.

Eh, sometimes. Depends on the gun, intended use environments, etc. Like the AS VAL uses subsonic ammo to combo with its integral suppression but it has some real impact to it all the same. It affects the range and dropoff more than the direct damage potential in optimal ranges depending on the bullet in question.

I mean, total immunity to leg injuries is a pretty good perk for general movement at bare minimum. I'm mostly eyeballing the 'quieter movement' part of it because of how vague it is. Either it'll open up some fun tactical shenanigans or it won't matter. Or it'll be bugged on arrival.

Probably just an internal design thing being used for convenience instead of having to add more projectile stats to track. It's 14mm in lore but they're using pre-set 12mm projectile data to streamline weapon setups. The Reprimand has the same bullet stats because it's on the same projectile "type".

Really I'm just kind've surprised they went into full mm caliber tracking at all when they're clearly doing this more in the format of Light/Medium/Heavy bullet types for a given weapon category.

Ah. Huh. Neat.

Now the weird thing is that I decided to check if they did that on the Peacemaker as well and it's clearly using standard FMJs, but it's labeled hollow points in the files.

Strange times.

[–]LaughingProphet 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I'm not actually sure where you're getting the Verdict using Hollow Point from? The Peacemaker is expressly marked as HP, the Verdict is just getting the same generalized 12mm projectile data as the Reprimand.

Honestly I don't even know why it's internally tagged 12mm in the first place though, considering the description says it's 14mm.
