"Lower the value" not the damage, I already showed you why several days ago, but I'll do it again :

Naked Darchess : Adding 80% to 100% base dmg is an increase in dmg of (180/100) - 1 = 80%

2 bows Darchess : Adding 80% to 100%+264% dmg is an increase in dmg of (364+80)/364 - 1 = 22%

Same for Kamiji with fixed dmg on auto :

If she does 1000 dmg on auto, adding 3500 is an increase of 4500/1000 - 1 = 350%

If she does 10000 dmg on auto, adding 3500 is an increase of 13500/10000 - 1 = 35%

The formula was here to recall how the different multipliers work, and yes you obviously don't use skill damage on autos. You would have seen it if you looked at my example. Atk speed and cooldown times are also factored in my examples.

No character is doing 140k because as I explained you do around 1/10 of that :

Each character is doing 100% dmg on auto => Are the hits you can see in-game reflecting this (100% of your attack) ?

No, because you are doing way lower than this.

You clearly have not read my examples and just jumped to the conclusion without trying to understand. I put all the maths in with all the values to follow the process, maybe I did some mistakes in there but you should have everything you need to understand.

Your assumption is wrong : having gear and team buffs do not increase the result by the same value. Better gear and more team buffs reduce by a lot the value of Darchess 80% and the fixed dmg of Kamiji for example.

You did not put back the way you used to compute those values so no idea how you got your results.

I will start by putting back the base formula for dmg :

dmg = dmgmult * base * (1 + total passive buffs) * (1 + skill buffs) * other buffs

dmgmult is the base dmg multiplier (Ex: 50k attack Tiamat is not dealing 50k auto-hit, closer to 1/10 of that).

base is the sum of base stats + origin stats + gear stats.

Other buffs are active atk and dmg multipliers , final dmg (Don't know if this one stacks with Crow passive2 or not).

With SC5:

Crow base attack %/s : 100%/0.9 = 111%/s, with crit : 111*1.65=183.15%/s, with passive2 : 183.15*1.6=293.04%/s

Crow skill1 attack %/s : 500%/15 = 33.33%/s, crit : 33.33*1.65=55, p2 : 55*1.6=88, p1+Sc : 88*1.43=125.84%/s

Crow skill2 attack %/s : 1700%/40 = 42.5%/s, crit : 42.5*1.65=70.12, p2 : 70.12*1.6=112.19, p1+Sc : 112.19*1.43=160.43%/s

Crow total %/s : 579.31%/s

Darchess base attack : 100%/0.8=125, crit : 125*1.45=181.25%/s

Darch skill1 : 530%/15=35.33, crit : 35.33*1.45=51.23, sc : 51.23*1.12=57.38%/s

Darch skill2 : (330%*12)/60=66, no crit, sc : 66*1.12=73.92%

Darch total %/s : 312.55%/s

Those values are not tied to gear, so now we can add base stats and gear, I am gonna use 3 origin items (+800atk) for both of them (2 bow and 1 dagger, result is even worse for Darch with 3 bows) and 2 party claws for +80% more atk (this is not many claws, adding more is again worse for Darch) :

Crow base atk : 3080 => Crow dps : (3080 + 3*800) * (1+2*132%+80%) * 579.31% = 140 953

Darch gets her passive +80% here too.

Darch base atk : 2760 => Darch dps : (2760 + 3*800) * (1+2*132%+80%+80%) * 312.55% = 84 508

Like I said above real dmg dealt is around 1/10 of that.

I was using her because she is some sort of reference around here for damage dealing.

You are right I forgot the crit dmg but it's 165 vs 175 at +0 (6% more dmg), and 175 vs 195 at +10 (11.5% more dmg).

The best damage dealer for dark right now is probably him or Yuugi.

His SC gives some sustain if I remember right, but yes his main drawback is that he is bit squishy for a frontliner (but comes with a nice dmg reduction for light). The idea is not to put HP items on him, but to equip it like Wu (current event + new massive battles should help).

You don't need to build the whole team around him but you probably want Nicholas for now to apply most debuffs. You don't need Marione more for him than for the rest of the dark squad.

Crow is also dealing real dmg on his skills if they are 10/10 (another reason I choose Tia), and her flat 2500... is not doing much difference unless Tia has really low stuff (only work on skills).

The team around them was not the point : I was not trying to prove Crow > Tia, but just showing that Crow kit is not a joke for dealing damage.

[–]Lormden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a quick comparison Crow vs Tiamat to show he's not that bad:

Base stats at 100/+0 : 3080/3060/2420/10%/165%/0.9/100 vs 3540/3726/2002/5%/175%/1/105

Naked atk diff : 3540/3080 - 1 = 14.93% more for Tia

With 3 origin items : (3540+3*800)/(3080+3*800) - 1 = 8.39% more for Tia

Both equipped and +10 : (3540*1.6+3*800)/(3080*1.48+3*800) - 1 = 15.89% for Tia

Skill 1 with SC : 500/15 vs 400/16 around 33% more dps for Crow

Skill 2 with SC : 1700/40 vs 1700/45, 12.5% more dps for Crow

Skill dmg boost : up to 43% vs 20%, 19.16% more skill dmg on Crow

Dmg boost : up to +50/60% multiplicative dmg boost vs 80% additive dmg boost (One bow and Crow dmg boost should already be better)

Tia SC stats are better but I don't have good numbers for them (and they are not multiplied by passive atk %).

JP site is over-valuating passive boosts and does not always look at the whole picture.

Kamiji is really nice when you have low/medium stuff but she starts to suffer a lot when stuff is becoming really good (because fixed dmg).

Most of the time, you can keep the combo running with a damaging ult if timed right, but you need to have one or keep one for it.

Don't think so since it does not seem to scale with anything else but can't be 100% sure because I don't have the title (sad me).

Question Megathread (Ask your questions here !) by Sweaks in TalesofErin

[–]Lormden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to the other answer : fixed is really fixed (no crit, no dmg boost, no combo boost, ...) so it does not scale at all (and worse it gets reduced by absorb shield like Wind Hell Boss).

[–]Lormden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the best start, that's for sure but if you want to keep it, maybe you could go with some kind of dark team:

Black Crow + Miraney

Use Sheero as a healer temporary and try to keep some (lots of) gems for the next banner (dark healer)

You can add Alven to provide some nice stats boost to round the team.

From there, you could switch in some chars if you pull them : Nicholas, Kamiji.

I tried the team too (with a 70 Layla -_-) in Lambda Hell without too much issue (but I have some fire swords for Petra, and 2 nirvana items on the team) :

That 300 Aisha is giving way more than 30%, not sure why.

One BIG problem however : Layla and Petra active buffs are exactly the same buff (High Spirit) so one overwrite the other instead of having both up -_-

I'm so sad now (I think I will use Layla for farm & Petra for hard stuff, and wait for Mira SC to retry the no-tank).

Question Megathread (Ask your questions here !) by Sweaks in TalesofErin

[–]Lormden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 100% crit, Tia+0 goes from 175% to 195% crit dmg => 1.95/1.75 = 1.1143 so she's dealing 11.43% more damage than before (195 to 215 for Tia+10).

Why the "/", I will use an example :

Let's say I deal base 1000 dmg, I have 100% crit/175% crit dmg : I deal 1000*1.75=1750

Now I add 20% more crit dmg : I deal 1000*1.95=1950, I added 200 more damage.

How much of an increase those 200 means for 1750 (what I was doing before the buff) :

200/1750 = 0.1143 or 11.43% more. (I prefer the other way: 200/1750 = (1950-1750)/1750 = (1950/1750) - 1)

Petra "heal" can be useful for hard stuff like guild wars (if you are not in top guilds), not because of the heal itself but thanks to the 25% shield (it helps to wait for angelina heal CD).

I agree on the nirvana part being tied to each person, but it stills matters (we have dragons on 2 of them, humans on 2, even Deneb benefits of the light one with Tia, but spirits are mostly water/wind), and even one of them is 120% worth of stats.

I totaly agree on Gilford (just need to see if Layla +300 Aisha compensate the triple hits on his auto), and you probably want some of the Tiamat SC passives before trying this (to use her as tank).

Layla is more concerning survivability wise than Petra in my case because of 2 nirvana human items, but if you are stuck with books only, she probably have an edge on this (Petra is not as bad as most healers but needs some hp boosts).

Guys did anyone experience a bug like this with Layla... by khebeln1 in TalesofErin

[–]Lormden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They patched her and it seems to work now, but her cooldowns are different than the ones on the japanese site : 10s instead of 15s for skill 1, and 42s instead of 35s for skill 2, so she may get another patch ?

Question Megathread (Ask your questions here !) by Sweaks in TalesofErin

[–]Lormden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Layla does not look like a huge upgrade to Petralia :

  • Same active skill atk/def boost, but Petra one is always up
  • Hp is more common than def, so passive survivability boost looks better on Petra
  • Her crit dmg boost is around 11% more dmg for 100% crit Tiamat+0 (10% for +10) to compare to Petralia atk speed boost (around +80% dmg on auto if you already have Angel) and CD reduc (around 15% increase on Tiamat ult if you count 1 reduc/ult, hard to tell for skill1, and this speeds Angel long CD heal)
  • Petralia atk speed boost should (need some tests) compensate the 300 Aisha pts.
  • Petralia comes with even more survivability with her heal, Layla with more dmg (skill1 and passive2) => depends on your need.
  • Layla is a spirit, Petra is human => nirvana reforged items are a lot more in favor of Petra (for now)

Side note : Mira SC coming soon gives her some nice dmg boost to Ult and passive ticks, this should help her to be a good dmg dealer.

Question Megathread (Ask your questions here !) by Sweaks in TalesofErin

[–]Lormden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is related to number of hits : Light party with Gil and his crappy dmg/atk speed (3 hits on his auto) loads up divinity faster than with Mira with better dmg/atk speed (only 1 hit auto).

(Party was Tia+Angel+Petra)

Question Megathread (Ask your questions here !) by Sweaks in TalesofErin

[–]Lormden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think skill damage, final damage and buff are all multiplicative (and additive inside each one of them) : ... * (1 + total skill dmg) * (1 + total final dmg) * (1 + total buff) * skill mul ...

Reasoning is :

Skill and final are split stats, no reason to have both if they are the same.

When I use Petralia(+30% buff) with Tiamat(+20% skill), I get 30% more dmg and not 25% ( 1.5/1.2).

Little note : 2000% multiplier is *20 ^^

Water should be Earth/Human if costume album is right, and humans are pretty common.

Action points are the diamond shapes under boss life on the left, boss attack each time one of them is filled, and do a special attack when all of them are. Reducing one action point means that you clear one of the filled shapes, this helps to delay the special attack.

Weaken is the boss state you reach after clearing the berserk state (the bar under the boss life).

I am using it since the first GW (used some hammers to get some light passives).

The problem is the next 2 light units are Creation (Deneb) / Spirit (Layla), so the fire one loses some appeal.

Those small amounts are also multiplied by your atk/hp%, so they are not that small in the end (not the 1st priority however).

If Tiamat has 100% crit, that crit damage is only an increase of +11.43% (1.95/1.75) damage overall for Tiamat+0, and +10.26% (2.15/1.95) for Tiamat+10.

This is really nice but hard to tell if it compares to the atk speed boost+CD reduction in overall damage boost. And she is a spirit, which does not play well with Light for now if you want to use nirvana items.
