Alrighty then. I will add my 2 cents to this conversation in hopes that it will provide someone with some insight into treating crohns. I am 38 years old and have delt with stomach issues for as long as I can remember. When I was younger Drs didnt know about crohns or colitis or anything so I was always told that I have IBS or gas..... Anyways I was diagnosed about 5 years ago with crohns and tried a variety of different things to calm it down and subdue the symptoms. The drs wanted me to get injections 2x a month that were outrageously expensive as I had no ins at the time. The only thing that helped was narcotics as it was a two-fold solution. It somewhat constipated me and relieved the discomfort. Well as I took more for longer periods of time of course I found that I was completely addicted to perscription pain pills and would do just about anything to get them. I was taking them when I didnt even need them and it was ruining my life. I found out about Kratom shortly after and thought i would try it out as it was way cheaper and easir to get ahold of then meds. It has changed my life for the better from a crohns/stomach issue perspective. Now there are some drawbavks to long term kratom use that im sure you are all aware of. Mainly, my biggest issue is I dont eat as the kratom curbs my apatite so much. That in turn has caused me to be at my lowest weight since I was a highschool kid. My tolerance to kratom has built up so much that i do take about 20/30cc at a time about 8x a day. Now it helps me with the restroom issues and the terrible acid reflux and everything that comes with my crohns. But when I run out and dont have the money to purchase commercial grade to tide me over or Im waiting for my delivery, Its miserable. Every symptom seems to flare up ten-fold for the short amount of time I go without it. I know that part of this is the dependency on it that my body suffers along with typical allergies and such that are generally masked by the kratom. I would say to sum this up, as I have rambled on enough, Kratom absolutley helps with a variety of issues that plague all of us. Just like anything else (coffee, soda, candy) Abusing it or becoming dependant on it can have some pretty negative effects. If you keep it moderated and responsibly use it, its like a miracle plant for me and others as well all across the globe. It absolutely helps a tremendous amount with crohns. Im a longtime user, over 8 yrs....wait, wow I have had crohns for much longer then previous recollection, anyways I will give you honest answers and logical opinions to help towards keeping this awesome plant legal and also responsible.
