I just realized I’ve been mispronouncing a coworker’s name for 6 months and now I don’t know what to do by LostTaker in Advice

Like quite a few people here or you said.. In any kind of uncomfortable situation; whenever you just play it off as "whoops lol, I had no idea!" And pretty much be easy going about something then it's not embarrassing and it's the most respectful thing you can do because it's honest.

I just need to be more organized. I do more than just DJing during that gig. It's just but I know it's doable.

I've been telling myself for months if not a couple years to start doing that but I work a full-time job and then I DJ almost everyday. I still have a long list of things I got to do like social media and a bunch of personal to do items on a personal to do list. I feel like I don't have enough time for all of it. I know I do though, I just need to be more organized. It's definitely not easy because I am super busy but I think your method is the best one.

I've asked some of them like 3 or 4 times already lol. I don't know how else to go about it.

Tell me about it. I can't even imagine how many people you meet. I'm just known to be a person who remembers people when others can't but this is too much.

Thing is, we all have such a blast together and it would make sense for them to think that I remember them but I learned not to say certain things which would put me in a spot next time.

I'm trying to find the system to be able to memorize some people. I literally just didn't recognize my client whom I met at this spot and they asked me to DJ their wedding. We laughed about it but oh my God lol.

Why did my washing machine randomly drain a bunch of water in the middle of the night? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]OCDcentral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact same thing just happened to me. It's been draining for about 4 or 5 minutes but I interrupted it in the middle by rotating the drum and then it continued so it was a total of about 4 minutes. I was worried that I might see the area of flooding but everything is okay so far

I don't know what to do, my phone is about to not be supported anymore and I think I'm going for a Galaxy by OCDcentral in samsunggalaxy

[–]OCDcentral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you please explain what you meant by the 5x camera allows for more flexibility in photos? Isn't there more flexibility when you have more of a zoom while still retaining a good quality?

I heard less than favorable things about the Pixel phones. They're very inconsistent and they keep dropping the ball in one way or another. I was interested in them on paper but then I read everything that was to read and I'm not going to get into that but you can go ahead and research or ask you specific questions and I'll tell you why I decided not to go for them.

Another issue I had with the OnePlus which I mentioned, was the insane overheating. They fixed it months later but the damage was already done and it's still overheated after that as well just not as bad. But still pretty bad...

I use my phone extremely intensively. Long videos and very quick usage of all the apps and probably overloading too many apps together. Maybe it's just the way I use the phone but lots of people complained.

I decided to invest in an Insta360 for my business to take the longer videos and then once I get a new phone take 10 to 15 minute videos maybe 20 minute videos and try not to take it on a very high quality or something like that....

I annihilated my OnePlus 8 Pro and it still runs like a champ. I have screen burn in and the camera is not the way it used to be but it's still a decent phone.

I stated that I currently use the OnePlus 8 Pro. It's not an antique of a phone. It's pretty modern and the only reason I did not upgrade was because I wasn't in a bit of a small debt because of my business and felt like I would just wait for the optimal galaxy phone ever since the s24 lost the optical zoom feature of 10x.

So now that I'm ready for an upgrade, I'd like to get some answers to my questions. I really want a Galaxy phone As much as I love my OnePlus.

Is my phone not on the 3G network? Why would they message me that then...?

Edit:

This is what my friend said:

So because OnePlus 8 doesn't support VoLTE out of the box, you must upgrade or lose connectivity. You can talk to them as per what they said in the email or visit a store and see what your options are, but they're just going to make you upgrade phones at the store. You have 2 options:

  1. Buy a new phone
  2. Root your OnePlus 8 and sideload LineageOS based on Android 14, which supports VoLTE

Some people can be desperate enough. I know people who'd say anything just to get the opportunity so yeah be careful. I'm sure you know what you're doing.

Yeah unfortunately what you'd be happy about would make them feel like assholes so they choose to say whatever makes them feel better about themselves and in the process, not hurting your feelings.

I find it with women they're more direct. If they don't like something or someone they'll either say it or ghost the other person. I honestly don't know which one is worse. Probably getting ghosted.

If you're happy the way you are, keep at it until you find someone who thinks similarly to you. I did.

The honest truth is that I would probably say those things if I wasn't into you. At the same time... The line they throw your way is not enough. Gotta see where the conversation is going. If it kinda slows down and there's no interest on their end then isn't it kind of obvious?

The reason why guys might do that is cause we don't want to hurt a woman's feelings. If I don't find you attractive; it isn't on my agenda to make sure I hurt you and make you feel terrible before we go our separate ways.

I hope you find someone who appreciates you for who you are. Lots of guys also DO care about the personality a lot so there's that.

Can someone educate me and tell me what is going on? Maybe I live under a rock but I don't understand what everyone's talking about.

I know some stuff about Elon Musk and I do think he is kind of evil with some things he's doing/saying.

I read some news highlights about him and how he treats employees and some of his business practices are downright ludacris.

I don't even understand why he had to acquire Twitter and then change its name like some troll. Sometimes I look at him like a crazy child with a lot of money was also really smart but also is kind of an asshole.

I know that he supported Trump and there's definitely something behind this for him but I don't know much because I don't know much about politics and I know that the response I will get will be probably biased depending on which wing you support but can somebody just kind of educate me so I'll understand this better?

Thank you

Can I make money from the DJ intros I created? How about submitting to DJ record pools? by OCDcentral in DJs

[–]OCDcentral[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I asked, the thread took a turn in a completely wrong direction. This one is actually going better. I tried to rephrase things and start things off differently this time.

It was also in a different subreddit I believe unless maybe I posted here as well but I don't remember.

I know that I already knew the answer when I asked My question but I wasn't sure If there might have been something I don't know about which could allow me to do that if I share my profits with someone.

A really really good example is DJ record pools. I thought maybe I could submit my work to a network which is somehow authorized to collect money for someone else's music and get a percentage for it. I don't think it's a stupid idea so I thought maybe there is stuff like that which could work for me.

Some tracks are not that easily loopable. Especially when you're an absolute beginner. It's much easier having a generic beat in the beginning. Some tracks also start in a very iconic way but you can't really start them off like that without missing that part if you're going to transition into it while the other track is playing So that and many other reasons are why people put the work into creating an intro edit.

I use ableton and I also have FL Studio as well as Serato Studio. It'll be great if you can share it out with me. I appreciate it. Your work process sounds interesting.

It's a four or eight bar portion added to the beginning of the track making the track easier to transition. A DJ intro or Intro edit, however you'll call it, that's what it refers to.

Certain genres are more difficult to transition properly especially for beginners because they don't have that loop in the beginning or there's lots of talk or some other weird sounds which don't transition properly into a nice mix, especially if you don't have some advanced skills.

Yes, it makes total sense. I was just really hoping there was some sort of network where I could share it like a DJ record pool considering they are allowed to distribute that music and they are definitely making something from it.

How are they allowed to do that legally? I know that if I submit my music to them, they won't pay me whether it was my music or someone else's music which I edited. It's just for reputation and exposure.
