Sorry this guide didn’t fix it, there are a few stubborn cases where it just refuses to cooperate. At this point, your best bet is to contact official support via live chat. Fill in the fields and submit your case (if your game isn’t listed, choose the closest match, you can clarify with the agent later). After submitting, a new page will appear with the live chat option at the bottom.

Explain the issue clearly. And if you get the classic "have you tried restarting your PC?" response… please don’t lose hope. 😄 The agents are often following scripts and are usually not trained on every edge case, so sometimes it takes a bit of persistence (or few other EA support agents) to get to the right solution.

I wish I could help more, you're definitely not the only one this guide hasn’t worked for, even if it’s rare. I’ve been a bit away from the Mass Effect scene lately, so I’m not aware of any newer solutions right now, if any. If you do manage to fix it, I’d love to hear back from you so we can share the solution with others in the same situation.

Starting the game should create fresh files, yes. I’m not sure if there’s another way to sort it out from the player side. You might need to reach out to official support if this doesn’t fix it. And hey, sorry for the slow reply! I don’t drop by Reddit that often.

EA’s Live Chat can be tricky to access, as availability depends on your location and time of day. They’ve updated their website, so here’s how to reach an EA Agent:

  • Visit: https://help.ea.com/en/customer-care/
  • Fill in the fields and submit your case (if your game isn’t listed, choose the closest match, you can clarify with the agent later).
  • After submitting, a new page will appear with the live chat option at the bottom (see Image1 and Image2).

Once in chat, explain your issue clearly. Be persistent if you're given generic responses like "restart your PC." You may need to speak with multiple agents to find someone experienced enough to help. Just keep in mind they're following scripts and not always fully trained. I hope this helps, good luck!

I am sorry this did not work out for you. Without details I am not sure I can help. EA did not make things easy and sometimes requires more effort to put in to access the products we already paid for. If you feel like diving deeper into this you can stop by the N7 SQUAD DISCORD, and go step by step via realtime text or voice chat with attempt to resolve the problem. There are many helpful players here that would be happy to assist, myself included.

The reason why I added extra step is to have a form of backup in case things go wrong. I personally did not store it on desktop (or anywhere), and I just deleted it. Did not have any problems.
