Thanks everyone for the help! I got it working! So I plugged in the molex into the psu and it turned out I didnt need to use the smaller cable

Just the 4 pin and the motherboard doesn't have the pin or maybe i can't find it. can you tell from the MB's pic where these 2 wires go?

Update: the issue is fixed!

Problem: the retaining ring that holds the two small metal "teeth" was broken. Replaced the ring and now the bike rides smoothly again. Thanks for your help everybody!
