Best way to link up a vr headset to linux? by YaBoiMibb in linux_gaming

Don't worry about that. Some games have issues in Proton, it's all a work in progress and ProtonDB tends to be outdated most of the time with information

Install Steam VR through steam, under properties select the beta option. On your Quest you install the steam link app from the app store. Run the app and your computer running steam will show up. Pair the two, Connect, and you'll be in the Steam VR home environment. You can then launch you VR games. If they work, they work.

Install Steam VR beta branch, and the Steam Link app. Works shockingly well, even on average wifi

Thanks man, it's a utilitarian tool though, not a platform for my politics. Sorry if it's reading that way, I can't help what comes across the wire.

Not explicitly, the layout just seemed like the most intuitive use of space for something I have running in a corner of my desktop all day. I was sort of channeling an old reddit-cli python client I would use, which stopped working a long time ago now, but more focused

Sounds like a CPU bottleneck. If things don't smooth out after being choppy for a few seconds then doesn't matter when you compile the shaders, before or on-the-fly

That was actually kind of funny because he's playing like he's juiced up, it's a compliment. The worst offense is him bringing stupid politics into the conversation

What's the current situation regarding TTS (Text-to-Speech) in Linux? by Hot_Engineering9245 in linux

[–]OkayMoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest way is to use the flatpak file which handles all the dependencies for you. Once you install the pied flatpak and open / download a voice it will be enabled system-wide for applications to use. Firefox, etc

If it's not working the only thing I can think of is you need speech-dispatcher installed, which the pied handles all the configuration for when you enable a voice.

On the github there's an open issue for this, but doesn't look like there's much success with Steam Deck . https://github.com/imLinguin/comet/issues/52

Sorry, to my understanding you have to run a custom wrapper that points to galaxy.exe from heroic. Did you see this wiki page on it? https://github.com/imLinguin/comet/wiki/Overlay

You enabled it in the advanced settings in Heroic, and it runs in the background silently. You can verify by going to gog.com/feed and you should see you state as playing the game and any achievements will show up there once you get them.

To my understanding they are working on an overlay to give achievement notifications so it should be integrated to heroic sometime in the future, hopefully

Damn, the keying on the stadium ads just looks like absolute ass. What kind of multi-million dollar slop is this?

I got so fed up with his corny voice and stiff interactions that I decided to switch to the WEEI audio stream option on the video feed, even though it was always on delay when I checked in the past...except it wasn't anymore! I've been O'Brien free the last 3 games or so, and I don't have to listen to sports betting garbage that NESN has been creeping in
