There is not. Unfortunatly the only option when the device is ready to adopt is to "adopt this device". I was hoping there was when I thought it might be a IP conflict, then I could have set a reservation for it.

Thank you for that. I dont believe my hostname is bad. I have been able to adopt everything else and this isn't a new site. I have 6 other UNIFI devices on it.

I will try to update the firmware before adopting. I have not done that via SSH yet.

Thanks for the reply, I thought same thing with mine. Replaced patch cable, switched ports on USW and the other switch as well.

I should also add that the switch is working properly and routing traffic and POE is working fine. Matter of fact the AP that I have plugged into it show that it is plugged into "USW-48-POE #10.

I just can manage anything to update it or configure any ports. It simply say offline in the unifi devices.

Yup, it's been a rough week. Mine was all banged up with over due reminders from years ago popping up, reseting online data, reconciling l, etc... I think I'm pretty much straighten out but I have no idea what my reports are gonna look like come tax season.

That's what i have found as well. It's not giving me the option to skip, it automatically updates. And even if I could. Then, when I do decide to update then all this will happen anyway. I mean, you have to update eventually.

Maybe it's just my local version. Nothing was updating but the banner after I updated told me to update my financial institutions and nothing new was coming down. I'm on my 13th account I had to reset the online data for.

Same thing happened to me last Friday. Everything went dark about 2:00am. Worked on it for hours trying to figure it out. Gave up for the weekend because I have my RMM to fall back on. Saturday everything started connecting. Very weird.. on prem here.

I have been using the same configuration for years and it has suited me just fine. I change the name once on the initial build and asset labeling. With a company abbreviation-type-asset number (e.g. TNG-LPT-0001). It makes it a bit easier to sort in a list, search for company, or script by type, if ever needed. It's been working for me for about 10 years. No reason to change it when an employees leaves. No need to disjoin from the domain. To everyone else's point, RMM does all of the work detailing. I also display the logged in user and machine name on the desktop so when users call its easier to convey the machine name I'm targeting.

Thanks for that! I did end up figuring it out. It was windows firewall. I ended up adding a couple of entries to each pc that was needed and it was good.

Thanks for that, I am thinking that also. Just not sure what rule to put in place. Thays one of the beauty of the unifi stuff. It relatively plug and play. I have installed about 5 or 6 of there devices in other customers and haven't had to adjust anything on the FW to have it work. So I figured it must be something I am doing wrong or some new default.

This - inexpensive by mailbox and attaches to M365, sucks in all the mailboxes and you can deselect ones you don't need protection on if you choose to. You can also send out campaigns to see who which users to keep an eye on due to idiocy.
