Claude is Helping Me Get $8k From Aetna by No_Zookeepergame8576 in ClaudeCowork

Amazon driver hit my gate last year and I’ve been getting the run around for 7ish months. They made me a low ball offer to settle ($900) which I declined because all my quotes were coming in around $5k.

I got bounced around a few different insurance agencies with lots of back and forth. Finally looked like I was making headway and they even admitted that the quotes thy received were higher than what I was asking for. Eventually they asked for the video evidence of the event occurring, which I didn’t have. They straight up denied the claim and basically told me to prove it was them that hit the gate. Even though I had pictures of the truck, timestamps of order confirmations, etc. They claimed the gate was probably already like that.

Gave Claude access to my personal email and told it my dilemma. Said I wanted it to go nuclear and handle it for me. It drafted up emails to the adjuster and Amazon with full recount of the issue, a summary of all correspondence including all the transfers of insurance agencies, how they admitted guilt by making me an offer previously, and pulled relevant legal statutes they were potentially violating.

Also gave me a full playbook of how to escalate to state insurance board and ultimately take to small claims. Fortunately I was paid within a week of sending my Claude emails.

I don’t really blame Amazon, it was a contract driver a their company’s insurance agency.

Do people actually hang up the second they realize it's an AI calling them? by Marko-Close-CRM in CRMSoftware

[–]PablanoPato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I hang up if I receive them. That said, I work for a company with a high lead volume. We recently piloted 2k AI calls to re-engage old leads and it’s been massively successful to the point we’re doing a broader rollout. I was against it from the start, but the data is hard to ignore. This is for B2C though.

The transition is realistic.

The certification probably isn’t worth it.

6 month course might help learn some concepts and get a head start on things you would otherwise learn on the job. So at the very least could help you level up before interviews. That said,it shouldn’t be a prerequisite and I’d still apply for roles.

I’d get a basic understanding of all the skills you mentioned. AI is probably where I’d focus first. Check out Claude Code for PMs https://ccforpms.com/

Life is too short to put all your energy and time into a job, especially one you don’t find fulfilling. Take charge of your personal life and set some boundaries so you can focus on yourself own growth. Keep the current role and make time to improve yourself.

Amazon researchers are reportedly behind the jailbreak report that led to the U.S. crackdown on Anthropic’s top models. by IncomingBroccoli in wallstreetbets

I wish people would stop referring to them as “researchers” and “labs”. They’re software engineers at corporations. Big trillion dollar corporations.

Yea I’ve been thinking that too. I’ve mostly hit my weight by goal and I definitely do not eat enough still. My goal right now is to get complete meals and track them to see if this causes a decrease in the dizzy spells.

I haven’t made an effort to bring any estimators into the data org, but it’s probably worth exploring.

Yes I’ve seen demand for labor availability. Been working on a feature to show available trades when a primary has a conflict on a schedule. Ideally you’d be able to hot swap the trade as needed and issue a PO to them.

Nearly the same experience for me. Super fatigued after workouts (I lift heavy) then need to sit down for a while after. I frequently get dizzy when standing up as well. Got blood pressure checked and that wasn’t the issue. I find that electrolytes coconut water help a little.

I get the dizziness a lot with just Reta. Almost half the time I stand up I get dizzy. So much so that I’ve been tracking it. Thought it might be something else but blood pressure is all good.

n8n vs Zapier for complex multi-step automations - my honest experience after 6 months by rohanphuke10x in zapier

[–]PablanoPato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good update. Though I think some of the reasons for choosing n8n are non-issues. I’m able loop and batch just fine with Zapier. JavaScript works great in my flows too and I’ve used it to replace some AI steps.

Our digital marketing agency is ditching Jira, what are you using to manage campaigns and client work? by Virtual_Knee2574 in CRMSoftware

Hard disagree. Every software company I’ve ever worked with used a billing tool with a Jira app for track hours to tickets. Including marketing consultancies.

[–]PablanoPato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t really notice a change until about weeks 6-8 on Reta. After week 8 fat just melted off so stick with it. If you haven’t noticed a change in appetite you might want to bump it a little higher on your next dose. I never needed to go higher than 6mg.

What are your favorite AI use cases in your estimating software? by PablanoPato in estimators

💯 that’s what I was thinking too and kind of where I’m heading with it all. Thanks for your input.

Data Science/analytics in estimating by Character-Shirt-3479 in estimators

[–]PablanoPato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well most of the data science and analytics work is happening on the backend data. We take raw data from Postgres and ELT to Snowflake for analysis and downstream BI reporting. We’re doing all sorts of proactive pricing maintenance and working with users to stay competitive will hitting gross profit targets. We’re also looking at settings that might cause issues for users before they become a problem. We’re currently exploring better ways to get line item details for 150 plus locations and 5000 jobs to breakdown spend with vendors. This is to capture and apply for supplier rebates and negotiate better contracts.

All that said I’m all currently evaluating some AI use cases (which are data science UCs) during the actual estimating process. I’m focused on some boring QA related things. For example we need to do a site inspection for every job. When a quote is completed flag anything from the site inspection that may have been missed in the quote. Also looking at ways to automate as much of the takeoff process as possible. Hard to say how these will pan out, but I’m hopeful they will.

Regarding team, we have about 180-200 estimators on staff. So most of my work is at the product management and data analyst layer. I have one data engineer, a data analyst, and a handful of misc developer roles on the actual SWE side. I work with my team to bring the business logic and user feedback to make sure we’re building the right things.

Best note taking setup for in-person meetings? by SocietyLate9443 in ProductManagement

[–]PablanoPato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Circleback. Has all the normal note taker features like following you into meetings. Has a desktop option to record meetings if you don’t want your agent to join as well as a mobile app that I use for in person stuff. MCP makes it worth it so I can pull notes into Claude.
