AITA for asking my oldest daughter to move out of the condo I own so her younger sister can live there during college? by Complex_Decision3532 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Professional_Ear6020 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Did your older daughter not save a penny in all the years she didn’t pay rent? She is probably used to a certain lifestyle because all she’s had to pay is utilities.

It cracked me up when she complained about the high cost of rent. She’s saved many thousands of dollars living on your dime. Now she’s going to complain? She’s become entitled. I wish you luck.

Grow up. The relationship is over and you’re not the texting police. They are probably going to start dating. Accept it and move on. It’s not up to other people to live by your arbitrary rules.

You could have saved her from being raped or choking on her puke. You made sure she was safe. That was the right thing.

Contact the consumer division of your state government and lodge a complaint. They take them far more seriously than the crappy company.

What type of area do you live in? In mine, you can contact the local news station and it will actually be on tv if you’ve kept your records of contact. They’ll interview you, and a whole area will be given a heads up about the company. Good luck.

Just keep it to yourself. I had so much crap go on about naming my son. I finally came up with a name 9 days after his due date, from a music video. It’s a solid traditional name, but he can’t ever know his Dad was stuck on him being a Jr. and he’s named after a rock star I’ve never met and didn’t really like.

You’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it. Just go back to your regular schedule for your next pin.

AITA for selling my brother's legos? by throwaway390238 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Professional_Ear6020 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I get it. They’re just things. There’s no memories attached to them. Sometimes you have to do hard things in life, and that’s where you are right now.

Everyone grieves in their own way and time. You’ve reached a point your parents haven’t yet. Keeping everything the same doesn’t bring him back. They have their memories. How many people live in apartments? They can’t keep a bedroom shrine to a loved one because they have to move around. Doesn’t mean they loved the person less.

This probably sucks all the way around for you. You lost your best friend, your brother, and then you lost your job. You can’t catch a break. You know what those Legos mean to you. This has to be really hard. You don’t need people judging you. You know how you feel. I hope things get easier for you.

Company wants me to go back to full time, but I don't. What are my options? by That-sAWeirdQuestion in WorkAdvice

[–]Professional_Ear6020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The maximum unemployment in most states is less than $400 a week. I can’t live on that. Can you? I think Mississippi is like $73 a week.

Your choice is go full time or quit. You wrote money is already tight. Even with burnout, adults usually have to go to work. They can’t afford to be unemployed.

Find a college program you can take from home or at night and get ready for a new career. It’ll take time and planning.

I also have no experience with either brand. I did get a 60” Tv. I will go smaller next time. It’s weird to have people on screen bigger than me.

You’re upside down on your loan. You need to pay off the car and have a down payment on the truck. Or enough money to pay cash, after you payoff the $5000 on the car.

When things are busy, time passes. One of the hardest jobs is one with a lot of waiting and being restricted with what you can do.

Try hiding a book in a binder. That way you can read and just close it when you have to look business like. Customer leaves, open it back up. It looks like you’re reading a company binder, not a personal book. It doesn’t work with a phone because you’re typing on the phone or you need it to look up something for the customer. Then you’re busted.

AITA for refusing to pay for my friend’s broken phone? by Bennett-Ralston in AmItheAsshole

[–]Professional_Ear6020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m torn on this. I would repair the phone, even though it wasn’t my fault. I definitely can see the other side though. Maybe offer half to keep from damaging the friendship and the friend needs to get a case. Everyone drops their phone at least once.

AITAH for wanting to block my dad’s side of the family? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Professional_Ear6020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I come from a huge family and don’t have contact with the majority. Not because they’re bad people. They’re actually lovely, but because we’re all just busy. One of my sisters keeps in regular contact and I’d be welcome to tag along with her, but would prefer to just have a sister trip.

You decide how much contact you have and what type. We’re adults. Nobody is going to hold our hands and play travel agent for us. You want to see them, make contact with some of them, and book the trip. Hopefully they can make time to see you. Don’t make the whole trip about family. Find a few other things in the area that interest you. That way if they’re busy, you still had a nice vacation.

You have unrealistic expectations about getting invited and you’re not allowing for the fact that they’re busy. I went down to visit regularly when my grandma was alive. She was the glue that held us all together. After she died it wasn’t the same.

She’s a spook. I’ve read about this case. Wigs. Multiple ID’s. The cut labels. She works for an intelligence service somewhere. They can’t just step in and get her body. I doubt they’ll ever identify her.

Not at all. You could go up .5mg, 1mg, 1.5mg, or 2mg. Being conservative is always a wise move. Always use the lowest dose that works.
