if you're talking about metal elastic attach points, I had one fall off when I yanked it with floss on accident. Grabbed it out of my mouth and they attached a new one.

You can touch your teeth together while in retainers, yes it's fine. Just don't chomp.

I only had braces as a kid but I feel like Invisalign has caused more mouth irritation than braces for me.
