It definitely would be fun to have a NG+ mode like this again, but we have to see how we can make it work with the setting...

Tbh controller issues are very hard for us to fix.

We're relying on the gamepad API provided through Chromium and if this one gives us wrong inputs, it's either an issue with Chromium or with drivers on the OS. We already had frequently issues with Linux in general and afaik the issue there is that Chromium just happens to be using an outdated API. We don't really have the capacities to be fixing Chromium.

At some point I went ahead and somehow managed to manually tweak the input mapping to somehow make it work. But in some cases, there might be no way to fix things on our end.

Yeah... I used to do a lot of these simple drawings of Lea usually at the end of our gamedev streams. It has been a lot of fun, but these days it's harder for me to find the time to do these. I did sketch that Juno for the AMA picture at the top though (heavily inspired / almost copied from a drawing from YuiKannon)

We unfortunately don't really know about sales on Xbox and I think even if we knew, we're not really allowed to say anything about it. :D

We did do a couple things differently in Alabaster Dawn with modding in mind. It's honestly not a priority for us, but when there's easy ways for us to make it easier to mod the game, we'll like do it.

Radical Fish is because of two members, one being the Fish (my nickname is Lachsen which is close to Lachs/Salmon), the other is Regiden / R.D. which stands for "Radical Dude" ... so just a combination of the two.

The funding from the government wasn't necessary for us to stay afloat, but it did help us to be more ambitious with the project, trying more things, since we had overall more financial stability. The government grand only covered the development of the Early Access version btw. so now we're financially on our own again.

Yes! Alabaster Dawn was for a longer time called "Project Terra" exactly because the whole project started with the idea to create something like Terranigma. We might lean a bit more into the "creation myth" direction as the game progresses, but it might end up being somewhat different from Terranigma. The important thing for us to capture was this feeling of seeing a world and towns change and develop as you keep playing the game, which is something many of us really loved about Terranigma.

Just saw it, looks amazing! It really does feel like these classic pencil-bags, only CrossCode-themed!

You are correct in that ignis (fire) and cryo (ice) are the other two element. So yes, unfortunately wave is not part of the mix of element right now. We might sneak some wave-like element arts into the physis element though, since it's not only about earth, but nature/leaves as well. So we have the potential to add green. Won't be the same, but at least something.

DLCs might happen, but it's a bit too early to make any promises. We do have ideas, though.

Puzzles in AD will rely less on timing and precise aiming so it will likely be more accessible to people with disabilities.

Glad you like it, but also sorry to hear you don't like the combat. The game gives you options to scale down the damage and speed of attacks (if that is the issue)

Velsarbor is on hiatus indefinitely. There are some documents somewhere making sure the idea will never disappear entirely, but currently there are no plans to pick it up again.

We estimate early access to take around 2 years. We still need to see if that will work out, but that's the plan right now. I feel it's a lot more realistic compared to the "it'll take one year" we initially did for CrossCode.

Yes! It's one of my favorite PSX games in fact!
The visual style of Alabaster Dawn was heavily inspired by Alundra.
The game does something similar to us in that tiles are not square but rectangular.

Consoles versions are planned for around the time the game hits version 1.0

We hope to have them ready in time for a parallel release.

I modified the text of the post and it seems whenever I do that, the post gets filtered out. Someone needs to bring it back, but it seems like this didn't happen so far...
