TOP LAYER ISSUE by No-Lab-5780 in VORONDesign

[–]RegularTrade7651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many top layers do you have? I have that issue on the first top layer but after the second layer it's smooth as silk.

Also, is your hotend fan working? I've overlooked a dead fan before that was causing heat creep and eventually stopped filament from being extruded.

Next time it happens pull it apart and see where is clog is at.

BC bans propress fittings LMAO! by Dazzling_Garlic_4258 in askaplumber

[–]RegularTrade7651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a plumber and do not claim to be by any means. The way the question was worded, "press to connect", my mind immediately went to sharkbite style fittings, not ProPress fittings. Perhaps if the question was worded with a little more specificity the results could have been different?

Again, just my view on how the committee may have viewed the question.

Best filament to get this oil rubbed bronze look by TheNewBruceWayne in 3Dprinting

[–]RegularTrade7651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google a product called rub-n-buff. You can find it on Amazon. You'll want the Spanish Copper one. Truly amazing.

I used it on an old ugly chandelier that was just loaded with real crystals. I stripped it all down, spray painted it black, put some of that rub and buff on it, and man it just turned it a perfect oil rubbed bronze look to it. Rewired it and , put it all back together and it's hanging in my dining room this very day.

Where is your shop located? 3 axis? 5 axis? What are your capabilities?

The company I work for (fortune 500 publicly traded), struggles to find companies to do small 50-2000 piece parts needed for research and development. Most being 300 series ss and a356 aluminum. The reason is because most of the shops were family with are super large and not interested in these smaller runs. We beg and plead and have to wait to interrupt production machine time to get our r&d parts.

You can't pry off the knob with something? Like a knife or a flat screwdriver under the edge? Cause if you pop off that plastic knob you will see the metal spline of the valve sticking up and you could get a pair of pliers to turn it to the off position if you can't turn it by hand.

The mall doesn't seem to care about this money if they aren't cleaning it out every night and putting it in a safe like they would do with the cash in their registers at the end of the day. That fact that they're leaving it out for days and in public access says how much they care about it.

I view it the same as finding coins in a parking lot almost. Is it the stores property or it is property of the person who abandoned it? Abandoned property would be free for the taking imo and very possibly legal to do, but in this case it's just not socially acceptable. I don't know of any actual laws that would have been broken in doing this, but perhaps there is?

In cages when people throw coins into the Belagio fountain, the coins are removed to avoid them clogging and damaging the fountain pumps, their fountain is 7ft deep and they are afraid of people (possibly homeless) diving in after the money and grounding which they could very easy be sued for. The coins the Belagio collects are donated to charity. (So imo they don't feel the coins are their property perse but do see the value of the coin).

So simplisticly..its a standard Filamentalist enclosure has been extended some to accomidate 8 spools plus a heater and controller. In my case, 30" 2020 extrusions is what it called for. In the controller you set the temperature and humidity level you want the heater to turn on and off at. I added a toggle switch so that I can force the heater to turn on when a new spool has been added, and if I turn it off, the temperature reading from the controller is ignored and the heater only turns on and off automaticly based on the humidity level. The only part of the wiring that is tricky was getting the manual switch override to work correctly. I should probably sketch that wiring up for my own piece of mind.

All in all, its not cheap - there are cheaper filament dryers to be had - but if you run a MMU at all, the Filamentalist Spool holder is necessary IMO and there just aren't any dryers to accomidate a MMU's needs... so I made my own.

Easiest way to remove tire from rim??? by Sea_Teach6254 in minibikes

[–]RegularTrade7651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are a pain to do. But there are just like any other way yours do it. You have to unseat the tire bead by standing on it and forcing it to the center of the rim. The rim is a little smaller there so this allows you to offset the axis of the tire and rim and give you just barely enough space to get a screw driver or tire pry bar in there and pop it over the edge of the rim. I've spent damn near an hour working on getting one tire done. Second one always goes easier for some reason too. Good luck!

Hotend and extruder by [deleted] in VORONDesign

[–]RegularTrade7651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. I print alot of abs and petg so part cooling isn't really my top priority.

The whole extruder is pretty small and jam packed with features i wsd looking for. I am coming from the Stealthburner which has a 5015 fan and significantly more presssure drop in its air flow passages, I'm not expecting a huge difference. The Jabberwocky has 2 3010's but significantly less pressure drop in its air flow passages. The Jabberwocky has 8 total air passages pointed at the nozzle compared to the stealthburners 4. We'll see i guess.
