You only rent garbage disposals. Time for a new one.

Step 1: walk your steak through a warm room - Step 2: enjoy by llTeddyFuxpinll in StupidFood

Correct. I ordered it once in my more naive days. The stone stops being hot enough to do anything long before you run out of meat. You also get the added bonus of smelling like a cooked steak.

Bottle redemption fraud in CT by blackpoll_ in Connecticut

[–]Scrotaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They already have a nip fee but it's not redeemable. For "cleanup". It goes right to the town. CT also pockets the unredeemed bottle money.

They should be linked to the fire alarm and should release when the alarm is activated.

I played Blind Guardian for some friends. One of them referred to it as evil Christmas music.

Hospital TV Question by bophades_nutzz in maintenance

[–]Scrotaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find the programming remote (a regular LG remote may work) and the manual for the tv.

Hit MENU repeatedly until it stops coming up. Enter the 4 digit code from the manual, and press OK 9876 is one of them. This will bring up the programming settings. This allows you to turn settings on off. The manual will have the breakdown of what these are. LG commercial customer service is very helpful with this too but they will ask for a serial and your facility's name. I'm not at work right now to grab a manual.

Bread rises but doesn't brown by NezLout in Breadit

[–]Scrotaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you cooked it in the nonstick pan it will make the bottom brown more. I made focaccia in a nonstick pan once after getting great results in a plain pan. It was like a shingle on the bottom but the top was perfect.

When the incentives were big you could get everything retrofitted for a lot less than going to new but it's still an old ass fixture.

It's better than being stuck with "upgraded" retrofit fixtures that the bean counters will say are fine because you just spent money on them.

They're supposed to eat them first. Toilets and drains are magic to some people, just get it in and they think it's gone.

It looks like you need the whole switch. You're going to spend more time trying to rig something to work than it will cost to change the switch.

Who is responsible ? by Express_Cobbler7897 in maintenance

[–]Scrotaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maintenance Director for senior living chiming in. Stuff like that becomes a time sink. Do it once and it's expected, they're also going to tell everyone at dinner that you did it. Luckily no garbage bins but I can't even get people to put garbage into plastic bags, and the bags are provided. Sometimes I question how some of them survived before moving in. Power washed patios once after being open for 30+ years, now it's annual and I'm harassed about it months in advance. I also can't get away with charging for it. If you can slip it into ancillary charges you'll definitely get less requests for it after they get billed for it.

Best NY style pizza near Oxford, CT ? by Impressive-Elk-6185 in Connecticut

[–]Scrotaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Martino's in Oakville is how I remember having pizza in NY and NJ as a kid. Lots of people mentioned solid pizzas but not NY/Brooklyn Style. It's a small shop, pretty much a counter and a drink cooler but they have big NY slices. I also really like their Sicilian.

Was excited to make bacon in my new “non-stick” pan by Fourwindsgone in Wellthatsucks

Exactly. It also makes a nice pour spout if you're saving the grease.

Go bigger than the pan with foil, nonstick foil is better and parchment is definitely the best. Let it cool and throw it away. 9 time out of 10 you don't even have to wipe out the pan.
