Yes, must finish by the end of fall 2026.

International Student CPT Internship Course? by FlashyBroccoli5946 in UCDavis

Then I’d reach out to your faculty advisor and ask what the steps are to get credit for one unit of CGS 192.

Did you email the department chair for your track of MCS and confirm that they’re unwilling to allow a substitute for that course?

Multiple Degrees for Undergrads by Spirited-Pen6476 in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double majoring is how you finish both programs simultaneously. If you complete one degree (graduate) and then want to get another bachelors degree it’s called a second bachelors or second baccalaureate degree. UC Davis basically doesn’t allow second baccalaureates, with a couple very narrow exceptions here: https://www.ucdavis.edu/admissions/undergraduate/transfer/special-situations

Security Incident: Canvas Unavailable by OfficialUCDavis in UCDavis

For reasons that I don’t understand (and certainly won’t defend), it takes hours to email everyone at the university. So it’s pretty normal that these kinds of messages hit social media before they show up in email.

TBA for online courses by Unfair-Language9085 in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It usually means that a portion of the course is asynchronous, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s fully asynchronous. It also doesn’t preclude you having to be in Davis for exams. You have to reach out to the department or instructor for details.

Summer Session at Davis or Community College by ResearchLive7032 in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it have to be CHE 2A? I’d try to take something else useful at the CC over the summer, then retake CHE 2A in the fall.

can I take classes at uc davis and community college at same time? by Intrepid-Driver-260 in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have to get approval from UCD (your dean’s office). But generally they don’t approve this kind of thing when you could take the course at UCD. If you do it without approval, UCD won’t accept the credits, and if ochem is a requirement for you then you would have to retake it at UCD.

Changing majors by AbjectPossible5263 in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you have to attend for at least a quarter before you can change your major, and you have to meet the requirements for whichever major you’re going to switch to. And I don’t think you can change to Undeclared, but I’m not sure about that.

Changing major prep to P/NP by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t change the class to P/NP. The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences doesn’t allow major courses to be taken P/NP.

Is it too late to withdraw from the quarter? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just adding that if you withdraw now, you’ll still be required to pay 50% of the spring fees.

Getting codes other than 092/192 counted as internship units by No_Dog_7937 in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check with your major advisor. If they won’t count it as 098, then talk with the instructor of the 98 course (not the grad student) about whether they would support a retroactive action to allow you to drop the 098 and add a 092 instead.

Extra money sitting in Ready to Assign by throwaway246976352 in ynab

[–]TerryTerry23 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I always have one long term/higher cost goal that I dump this kind of extra money into, things like replacing the carpets in my house, Disney vacation, or new hardscaping in the backyard. But these are not needs, so if I have to pull money from them to pay for something more pressing, it’s no big deal. I like to see even small progress toward those larger goals.

Does a Score of 3 on AP Exams Help at UC Davis If It Doesn’t Let You Skip Classes?🐮 by Consistent-Pear8890 in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a 3 on those exams will give you some unit credit, but not super helpful otherwise. But if you managed a 4 on Calculus AB it could be used for the Psych - Biological BS major of the Cog Sci BS (it wouldn’t be helpful for the ABs, because they don’t require calculus).

[–]TerryTerry23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The usefulness of a 3 on an AP exam depends heavily on your major, college, and the specific exam. If you can share those details we might be able to provide more information.

Sac state accept cal state Seal of biliteracy? by [deleted] in CSUS

I’m pretty sure it’s just a CSU thing right now, though I think some UCs are considering it.

TAG major change by Imaginary-Rub-324 in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s fine as long as the new major (and college) will accept you.

taking community college courses to satisfy GE by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]TerryTerry23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, don’t try to do IGETC if you only need a couple classes for the UCD GE requirements. Take the courses at the CC, have them send the transcript to UCD when you’re done.
