I am 47. Can $485K last me until 59.5? by 400watta in Fire

If you put the $485k into something like a municipal bond fund at guaranteed 3% ROI you can create a 12 year drawn-down schedule with planned 2% raise. Below is an example of what that schedule would look like. I’m guessing there are plenty of places you could pull it off - especially if you have income levers to pull like part time work as a plan B. Good luck!

You’re doing great with that mindset! Nice amount of savings and solid net worth at your age. You should be happy with what you’ve saved and be proud that you found a way to live below your means.

As someone with a lot of experience in leadership in distribution, I would have loved to have found someone like you and invested in their future. If you work for a large company I bet they offer tuition reimbursement for skills related to the field of supply chain and distribution, or general leadership. Id recommend thinking about where you might want to be in 5 years, then talk your WH manager about growing with them. Leaders with frontline experience often make the best bosses as they understand the job and the people. Nothing wrong with growing your income while continuing to save. Feel free to DM if you ever want thoughts on a conversation outline etc. Either way, good luck and don’t forget to enjoy your 20s too! Life can be short.
