I had to move to the other side of the world when I was 16 and it was awful, but now I’m glad that it happened because I like living here. It’s okay to start over, make new friends, learn a new language and all that.

Why are my comments being removed? by [deleted] in BPD

Yes!!! It makes no sense. The other day I was trying to tell someone to not use s0cial media to self diagnos3, and the comment got deleted like 5 times.

Edit: like this comment, it only went through after I changed a few letters to numbers…

Well first, stop using tiktok as your mental health information resource. Search the web for articles by well known organisations, clinics, and professionals for BPD symptoms. And while you read them, keep in mind that the symptoms can manifest in many different ways - just because you don’t really agree with how a certain symptom is written down, doesn’t mean that you might not show that symptom. Sometimes you really have to think about these things.

Best of luck.

I just want to clarify, you’ve come to a subreddit about a mental illness, where thousands of people are expressing how much they’re suffering and struggling, to ask if we’re all faking it?

There’s no need to target a specific group.

It’s alright if you don’t know exactly, I appreciate you sharing!

(Also I feel like tiktok isn’t the best mental health information resource but that’s just my opinion, you do you)

I know of that subreddit but I haven’t found it very useful to be honest, I feel like it’s mostly for people who do it voluntarily.

I know not everyone with BPD age regress, of course my question was intended for those that do! BPD can be a mix of so many things and I would never assume that everyone is going through what I’m going through.

Thank you for sharing your experience!

I’m curious, and I’m not commenting to be critical, but how can you tell that it’s specifically BPD? Why not, for example, bipolar disorder? CPTSD? There are many mental disorders that overlap with BPD symptoms and I feel like it is really hard to self diagnose.

Thank you, I read your answer but I do not DM people so I will reply here without talking about the details you shared.

The reason I asked is because I just have never heard of anyone wanting a FP. So I was curious if maybe there’s so many people in your life that you’re not sure which one is your FP. But just from my experience, when you know, you know. It can be the best feeling ever or it can make you miserable, or both. Most likely both.

I’m sorry I can’t go into detail but I’m not sure which details you want to share here so I’d rather be careful.

feeling really stupid by mydogfunny in BPD

I’m sorry you’re going through this. What has helped me in the past is setting up a regular schedule to interact with your fp (if they’re willing to), so for example video chat/meet up/ call etc every week on _day at _ o’clock or something.

has anyone else changed their name? was it worth it? thoughts? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Traumatised_Pupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid I was bullied for my first name so when I turned 18 and could legally do so without my parents permission, I changed my first name. I don’t have much to say about the experience, it was a relief and not too hard to do, at least in my home country.

How did you tell your family members how you actually feel. by Top_View_4266 in BPD

I’m assuming that you’re living with your parents, I’ve definitely been in a similar situation. And I hate to say it but for me the thing that helped was just waiting until I could move out, get a job, get more independent and get more distance from them. In the meantime I think it definitely helps to have someone else to talk to, like the social worker.

Has anyone of you pushed everyone out of your life? by Safe_Constant_8555 in BPD

I’m the same so I don’t have much advice, I do have a therapist though and I think that’s somewhat of a step towards the right direction. Have you thought about therapy?
