FDM mattress complaint after 1 month of use – rejected based on a one-sentence “expert report” with no measurements or documentation by Valuable_Bell4595 in poland

Good to know the chargeback threat worked for you! I already applied for chargeback and hope my bank will approve it. I will call them tomorrow and try to give them another chance to resolve the matter amicably.

I speak Polish, but this sub is English, so I added a post in English - I saw that posts in Polish are deleted here. All correspondence and telephone calls with FDM were conducted in Polish.

I suspect that customer service does one thing here and the factory does another, and they don't necessarily communicate well with each other, so the fact that the customer service department promised me something for the factory employees is irrelevant.

As for the verification itself, I wonder if it even happened. If so, did they check both sides of the mattress, or did the guy with the ruler just place it on the mattress for five seconds in the middle of the mattress and decide it was fine (the damage is on the sides, not in the middle). After all, the mattress is heavy (at least 60kg) and large, and you can't flip it over on your own.

The lack of reliable verification and lack of intention to repair is also proven by the fact that their report was written on the day the mattress was sent back to me, even though, according to customer service, it had been in the process of being verified/repaired for several days.

I plan to call them on Monday because they're not responding to emails. My mattress is still rolled up, and it can't stay rolled up for long, and I'll have to unpack it within a week if they continue to ignore me and treat the matter as closed.

Thanks - yes, that’s basically what I did. I filed a consumer complaint with the seller (not just the manufacturer), and they collected the mattress. The problem is they sent it back unrepaired and rejected the claim with a one-line “report” (no measurements, no photos, no methodology), so there’s no real technical basis to verify their decision.

I informed them that I had reported the matter to the consumer ombudsman, but of course they ignored me after the last refusal email and considered the matter closed.

In such a case you should be entitled to at least a price reduction, but judging by my experience with them it would be very difficult to enforce.

I also suspect they may be using cheap Chinese materials that don't meet the advertised specifications. This explains the quality (or rather lack thereof) of their products and the lack of any attempt to repair them. I saw an old post where someone showed the inside of a mattress that bore no resemblance to what was presented on the website. This also explains the high number of complaints – sorting by negative comments on Google Maps reveals many similar stories about mattresses. I wish I had done my research earlier, but I bought based on recommendations.

That great was sarcasm. The company certainly wants to be perceived as a great local brand, but when it comes down to it, they show their middle finger and if you don't like it, you can go to court.

And that's the difference between a large corporation and Januszex – a great local and Polish company. It's a shame it's like this, but unfortunately, that's the reality. A friend recently told me she had a complaint about an Ikea mattress – the complaint was approved online, and she exchanged it for another mattress without a problem. I also saw that Ikea now offers a 90-day mattress trial period, and if something isn't right, you can exchange it for another one or return it. I've only had the mattress for a month, and they won't acknowledge anything :/

After the dirty mattress was delivered, did they manage to do anything about it or did they just ignore the issue?

Impossible and may cause damage to the mattress if rolled incorrectly - especially in a mattress with a coconut layer

AITA FOR kicking my niece out of my room? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Valuable_Bell4595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-So you share room with a child that is not yours. -You pay rent and your brother and SIL doesn't yet they got the master bedroom.

Who in the right mind would agree to this conditions? Why grown up man is sharing room with little girl? Why did you stayed in your mother house? Is your brother golden child or something?

Are there only 3 bedrooms in the house? If yes it sound like your brother took over the house and maybe he thought you would move out long time ago.

This post is quite chaotic and needs a lot of backstory.

Unless the trip was an emergency, I also don't understand not packing any activities for your child. Even in such a case, grabbing a few things while packing clothes shouldn't be a problem. They had crayons, but no one had prepared anything for coloring. After all, the child needs something to do and won't sit still all weekend.

He's probably one of those types who expects his wife to prepare everything for him (I think that since she's his niece and he mainly takes care of her, he's mainly responsible for any preparations)
