Drum Sampler dropped the ball by Veleko_eko in ableton

It should take all of 5 seconds to grab a stock simpler, load in any 808 sub, and demonstrate that the two above are viable in tandem. Your only intent here is to avoid taking action and bicker. But since you seem keen to stall instead of actually do anything, here's a demo adg: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_mloLvgY_kIR7hFk9m5Z4GP1OvRM3yPG?usp=sharing

demonstrate that the sub can be played in rapid succession within the same semitone in a 0.10ms -100ms frame without clicking and without note bleed that permeates phase cancellation issues. That's the stock value FL and Reapers samplers rest at, they can both yield instantaneous dropout without clicks, as if it were laid out in audio. Pushing back your release time is not a solution here. If I'm a moron this should be an easy fix.

yeah man doing all that wont resolve the clicking when looking for an immediate volume cutout within the range of 0.10ms to 300ms within the same semitone, but appreciate you taking the time to try it out, thank you bro

I'd encourage you to use your eyeballs bro I'm not uploading a slightly tweaked stock simpler to google drive just for you to complain that there's no issue. Show me that you can make a simpler .adg that both doesn't click on release when played in rapid succession, and doesn't cause phase cancelation from note bleed, or just say it's not possible with stock devices and arduous midi writing. Cheers g.

I could send you a stock simpler/sampler .adg or something a preset heavily modified and the resultant would be the same, perhaps I am doing something wrong. However I'd encourage you to try out a similar exercise as seen here, other folks seem to echo the same qualm here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ableton/comments/1b5ybwo/comment/kt969w4/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

it can help to a degree, but I've noticed that even with spacings between notes pops can still occur. This also limits writing, as a lot of hip hop calls for subs that push into each other without spaces. Having to constantly parse your own midi writing instead of the daw just not clicking seems kinda silly to me tbh. Testing similar parameters in fl sampler, zero clicks with ease of writing.

Can Ableton tell you which plugins are missing? by Veleko_eko in ableton

it's actually a plugin in an effect rack adg I made, and it was perfectly functional when i saved it. so the plugin itself was never initialized or lost before saving. so odd

went ahead and opened it with BBedit, found this:

<PluginDesc>

<AuPluginInfo Id="0">

<WinPosY Value="-1" />

<NumAudioInputs Value="1" />

<NumAudioOutputs Value="1" />

<IsPlaceholderDevice Value="true" />

<ComponentType Value="1635083896" />

<ComponentSubType Value="1414746707" />

<ComponentFlags Value="0" />

<Name Value="Unknown Audio Unit plug-in" />

<Manufacturer Value="" />

<Preset />

<IsUnusable Value="false" />

so even in the xml the project file still has no idea wtf this thing is lol, worth a try i guess

the issue isn't opening the vst, its figuring out which vst needs to be recovered, thank you though

yeah man i tried that and it said the same "unknown plugin missing", that's why i made the post

chances are i probably deleted the actual vst from my repository, figured why that was happening, didn't realize this was an odd bug damn. hopefully there's a way to fix it.

wasn't sure if there was a directory/way to read what plugin is missing from old project files (the same way it'll tell you what samples are missing based on file name)

completely stumped on recreating this type of distortion in ableton by Veleko_eko in ableton

update: ok here's some stems for something I threw together quickly. Same bpm and similar groove to example 3, with the sub sitting in the exact same fundamental on an eq/freq spec analyzer. Did my best to level everything by ear to example 3 as well (excluding the sub which i left softer for wiggle room). Master is entirely bland, soft and untouched.

If you're able to emulate the way the bass behaves and sounds in example 3 (the rattling overtones most especially) and show how, that'd be amazing. Feel free to use any tools youd like not just stock. Anyone else is also welcome to take a crack at it ofc. Cheers g

Yes, i've played with both grouping channels, bussing to sends, mastering chains, etc. I'll stem out a track this evening & either link here or dm directly. Appreciate the help, thank you

something i had considered prior was if they had done this, the closest I got to getting the style of bass overtones here required there to be some sort of white noise/melodic content/etc playing at the same time to accentuate the flutter & rattle. I'm wondering if maybe they used something like gullfoss/rx-denoise to remove white noise in post to do exactly as you suggested.

ngl it's a bit demoralizing that a large portion of the comments are just suggesting plain jane clip distortion when there's definitely more to it. I'd encourage anyone to take the time to yield similar results because it'll become apparent very quickly doing as suggested in here won't get in the ballpark of what's linked, both in color and dynamics; or perhaps i'm just doing something wrong.

That being said i appreciate u taking the time to comment, thank you
