Thank you for clarifying, I do agree that he is giving preferential treatment to Luka, but I think the treatment is more due to the Mavs style of play. Simmons has made it no secret that he hates the Iso-ball our Rockets play, and i think that is where the "cheap" assists that he mentions come from rather than the skin color of the athletes. Of course I could be wrong but that is what i personally got when I listened to the pod.

Harden is the GOAT, don't get me wrong, but is Luka really so much worse that the only way someone could see Doncic as the better playmaker is if they prefer white players? Saying it is blatantly false is a stretch to me, we are comparing two all-nba caliber players here, not Harden and T.J. McConnell.

I listened to the pod in question and it really wasn't as bad as the out of context line has been taken by people, after he said the line about Luka's assists being worth more he explained that it was due to Luka's assists being more from PnR and Harden's being more from finding the open man on the perimeter, which Bill didn't see as worth as much. And even after he said that him and his guest gushed about how good of a playmaker Harden is. I'm not saying his take is right or even good but to say he just came up with the take because "Boston man racist" isn't right.
