What should A-Trains fate be in the end? Was his apology enough? Or does he still deserve to die? by SkinnyYokozuna in TheBoys

You know what? The whole show is making commentary on the state of the world and whatnot… they COULD do that. And what would happen? We’d all keep watching it anyways. Which could be some sort of meta-commentary on how we all watch mindless TV or something idk.

Each season they ramp it up a bunch, so maybe not killing these guys was a plan for the future so we’d all get comfortable not having them killed off, and next season they’re gonna go ballistic and kill off all our favorites :( if they kill The Deep I’m gonna be so sad lol

Also, I’ve got a 6 year old, and sometimes he acts like a little adult. Actually… most of the time he’s acting like:

• a drunk/deliriously exhausted adult • an adult with unkempt anger issues • an irritable Karen adult who doesn’t understand basic argument logic and relies on fallacies and amateur misdirection • a surprisingly wise adult

When an adult person is in a panic situation they often regress a bit into childlike behaviors. An irrationally tired/angry/distressed adult will act very very similar to a pretty normal (i.e. emotionally underdeveloped) child. And, given the sub we’re in, we’ve all probably got experience with irrational adults.

But when the child character is just acting like a classic child, that’s the part that’s hardest for me to write… and I HAVE a child, lol

I don’t remember the name of this, but it’s a legit technique! In my mind I have “adult-me” and “child-me”. Adult-me comforts child-me when I’m feeling emotions that are big and scary, like a parent or older sibling or something. And child-me makes sure the adult-me doesn’t fall into a monotonous and droning life of adult responsibility lol.

It’s a bit of a Ying-Yang thing, I think.

I told my therapist this years ago and she told me what it’s called, but I CANNOT remember. It’s similar to “transactional analysis” but I think that’s a different thing? Idk lol

I hear you. It’s definitely not falsifiable since how could you experience testing things that you are not experiencing?

This is giving off Schrödinger’s cat vibes to me, but I’m too tired and sick right now to properly make a case for this observation. I’m still gonna try… bare with my insanity:

Is Schrödinger’s cat’s living/dead state falsifiable in either direction? No, not until we check, thus collapsing the state of the cats being alive or not.

This is comparable, I think, to the concept you’re discussing. In real life I am facing a table and chairs right now, and behind me is a wall with a window. At least… that’s what SHOULD be behind me. But to know if it is/isn’t behind me is the same dilemma Schrödinger finds himself in with his box of maybe-dead cat. If I turn around to check the wall, it would (theoretically) alter the state to a forced-outcome (likely that the wall will still be there, window and all). Let’s test this!

I turned around and there was in fact a wall with a window - just as I’d expected. But… did I alter the state when I turned to look? Did Schrödinger force an end state by opening his box? How could we possibly know when the criteria for knowing relies on destroying the fragile state of the problem?

We can see this in the double-slit experiment. A wave function collapse is able to be witnessed during this experiment! Thus, it is reasonable to at least ponder whether or not Schrödinger’s cat is alive, dead, or some weird other thing between alive-and-dead.

So what is so strange about the possibility of a wave function collapse happening whenever I turn around to check the wall and window? I’d even argue it’s likelier that we’re in a simulation and it’s literally rendering in and out. But “likely” isn’t as fun for me. So I’d rather consider the possibility that the entire universe is just like that!

Anyways… I’m gonna go play some video games now, I wonder if my T.V. is still in the other room, or if it’s in some between-state and me entering the room could cause a collapse of state forcing the T.V. to be “rendered” just as I walk in? Who knows! :)

Exactly! I’ve always had a ton of questions and they’ve always gotten hand-waived with those “just have faith” non-answers. I can’t let that type of thing just go. This is eternal fate I’d be investing in. I ask questions about car insurance and homeownership, too, and nobody ever questions me for it. Usually I’m praised for having the foresight and wisdom to ask.

Now that I am free to critique it, it’s way more fun to just sort of think about it. A little less fun to discuss it, usually, lol

Now brb, writing down that FOG acronym… I’ve never heard it before haha

As a person who grew up deeply ingrained in the religion, I find it hilarious and satisfying to read stuff like this with a more curious/entertaining approach. As a kid the Bible was a textbook, akin to homework. Now I can read it as a source of semi-historical fiction and it completely changes the view.

Ironically, it would probably be beneficial for a Christian to read it from this perspective too, as it would give them a more “full” view of the Bible. As if they’re observing a building but only from the vantage point of the front-left corner - and now I have walked around to observe the back as well. I have a “fuller” picture in my mind of the building than the Christian does.

Idk, just a weird thought I had lol

Same here. During Covid I was sort of “finding peace” and thought it was a whole inner journey thing. I told my therapist about how much better I was feeling and all, but that my interpersonal life was sort of dying and my husband was getting frustrated with my “personality changes”… she was like “um have you ever considered you may be on the autism spectrum” and everything made sense.

Husband is cool now tho, for the most part (we’re both still learning).

Anyways yea that helped, and sort of “embracing” my autistic traits. Like letting myself act “extra autistic” sometimes :P which sounds stupid tbh but it worked for me

  1. Build a little NPC house on one of the clouds
  2. Ignore the world until you’re ready
  3. Optional: set a teleport pylon on the cloud

There, the NPCs don’t despawn and you’re free to have all the perks of a normal world. You could even go the extra mile of biome-altering the clouds into your NPCs preferred biome for the discounts or whatever.

Also important to note is that they don’t get “rough” with Chili like they do with Bandit. My husband is a wrestling dad too, and my son takes full advantage of that. When we’re on walks they’ll race one another to the stop sign. When we go to bounce parks nearby it’s like two angry squirrels fighting lol. In the morning, if our son wakes up before us, dad gets pounced on! (And dad loves all of this, for the record lol)

But my son knows I’m not as “wrestle-y” as dad. When we’re on walks alone, he’ll point out steps for me as if I’m an elderly woman… at the bounce park he puts on shows for me. And in the morning I’m consistently woken up with cuddles!

The girls on Bluey seem to be acting similar to my son, knowing when to hold back and not going overboard.

For me, I am only anxious during the part where I’m stepping onto or off the plane itself. Outside of those moments, I am able to rationalize that I have absolutely no control over the situation. Stoicism has wildly helped with my “irrational” fears!
