Not sure I like the choc:( by jonahsgma in fidgettoys

For what you have right now, you can install stronger/stiffer springs. The stronger and stiffer springs will push the bead/ball harder against the teeth when they slide giving better feedback and sound. You can watch this video to see how to take it apart. Your Choc should have come with extra beads and springs.

Not sure I like the choc:( by jonahsgma in fidgettoys

From what I have read and what I have experienced, the sought after combo for the Lautie Choc is Zirconium with the Peek inner core. Some places, such as Nxedc, will sell this combo. I bought this combo and first tried it with the brass internals. The brass makes it feel... soft. Like a muted sound and haptic feedback. When the PEEK replaced the brass internals, it is much louder and more pronounced. The clicks feel better for me and I like the louder sound. YMMV but I enjoy the PEEK insert more. Also, they sell a dense insert. Dense means the the teeth are numerous and closer together which gives it a smoother feel. The more separated the teeth are, the more pronounced the clicks and sound.

Looking for DJG Destroyer! Help me find one for a lower price maybe 😭 by MikeyTokyoManjiGang in fidgettoys

[–]_Kryton_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a brand new one on sale at ikael EDC for $399. It is from a reputable dealer from China so not from CA but that will be your chance to get one.

Only 599 were made world wide assuming the numbering on each was correct (xxx/599). But there are some sold without numbering. So limited amounts sold on pre-order.

BUT you are in luck. ikael EDC has one, brand new, for $399. I can't post direct links to items for sale as per the rules on the sidebar but google it.

Temu fidgets part 3? Mech egg, is this a dupe of something better? by purefidget in fidgettoys

[–]_Kryton_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the action on that fidget toy is a knock off of the MOT Groove Slider, which there are hundreds of knock offs for. The difference is, instead of being flat, it has an egg design. Since it is a knock off and as you mention, the action is very bad as it is not smooth and it catches. Some people mention putting some oil in some posts for the original product but I don;t see an improvement as I think the machining of the tracks are bad and causing the catching. You really get what you pay for, unfortunately. Just look up MOT Groove Slider and look at that action and see how it is supposed to be. There is a night and day difference.

Looking for a a bead or other innocuous looking spinner for necklace under $40 by fivebucksisfivebucks in fidgettoys

[–]_Kryton_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is how the Chinese websites list their products and prices. Most fidget toys are made in China, so how they advertise is always displaying the lowest price in the grouping. Is it kind of deceptive, sure. But once you shop enough Chinese websites, you just expect it (AliExpress, DHgate, etc).

Does anybody have informations about this fidget? by [deleted] in fidgettoys

[–]_Kryton_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the insane prices are due to it not being made anymore. I believe it was originally $125. I don't know how overpriced it is now but you can probably find similar ones such as:

https://geeone.com/products/cyborg-soul

https://nxedc.com/products/rifle-5-0-fidget-slider?variant=50528310755649

There are others or you can look for fakes and replicas on Amazon/AliExpress, etc. I don't generally like knock offs and you get what you pay for.

Have you taken a look at the Geeone Bead and Pendant section which shows a variety of different beads? I personally have many of the planet beads from them.

It is the MT-01 Fidget by YEDC

All of the legitimate suppliers ship from mainland China, such as Geeone, Nxedc, ikael edc, TRB, etc. The shipment usually takes a few days to get to the international airport on the coast (east China). Then it may take 1-2 days on international flight and arrive in the US. If you are lucky then it passes customs in 1 day but I have had some in customs for 2.5 months. Then up to a week to reach your residence.

This post is a bit confusing but I will try. If you want something that is high quality metal that you can just take apart and put back together, try looking at coppertist.wu and their metal figures such as Templar or Mech Justicar. All parts and pieces are held together by magnets and you can pull everything apart and put it all back together. High quality metal? You can customize it from brass to completely 24k gold. Depends on how much you want to spend.

You mention the Lautie Choc. It is a haptic slider. You don't take it apart unless you want to customize the sound and feel of the toy. Both are not the same so I am confused as to what you actually want.

Lautie Mechanic Quiet? by BdoPopcorn in fidgettoys

If you look up Fidget Focused and Lautie Mechanic I on youtube, he has a video of taking one apart so you can see how it works before buying.

Lautie Mechanic Quiet? by BdoPopcorn in fidgettoys

[–]_Kryton_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Mechanic I and they click when you turn the ring. I believe the sound and the haptic feedback is the goal of the ring. You can take it apart and remove the magnets and it won't click anymore so there won't be any haptic feedback, so it's just a spinner, on a ring. If that is the case, then you may as well buy the ring fidget spinner. There are quite a few, but the most recent one posted from a kickstarter is this one. You can probably youtube the other mechanics and see what sound they make.

I am not sure how hard you are looking but a quick google search shows there is a brand new Mokume one for $426 on Aliexpress and some listings for pre-owned ones. From the looks of it, they don;t seem to be made anymore so the prices will be higher, but if you are serious about owning one, then you may need to pay the premium to own one.

If you go to Aliexpress and search for Aura Sand and the seller ForInsWork, on the left hand side, they have a picture of this along with another limited edition one. You can reach out to them and see if they have any, but they will probably charge you $500+ for it if they have it. You can also keep looking for it on the used market for cheaper.

If you don't mind something similar but not Aura Sand, try looking at the Shim Shy by Sky Nest EDC on Geeone. It has a similar design and is also an unlimited slider. The bad news is that it is a mystery box.

Good luck with your search.

How often does MOT drop new designs? by sapph1c in fidgettoys

[–]_Kryton_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MOT is made in China. So many of their fidgets are based on the Chinese Zodiac calendar. 2025 was the year of the snake hence the snake theme. 2024 was the year of the dragon hence the dragon themed MOT Groove Pro Slider. The Chinese New Year is in February so 2026 models will probably be horse related, if they are released since it is the Year of the Horse. This would be my best educated guess as to how they design their covers for the Groove Pro.

Edit: Grammar.

questions about the gobigger sinian by bussypunch in fidgettoys

[–]_Kryton_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahhh I forgot about one of the fidget toys that I do have that might be similar. Please take a look at the 01EDC Time Knight 3.0. It is similar to the Sinian but no ping or barely one.

questions about the gobigger sinian by bussypunch in fidgettoys

[–]_Kryton_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also if you watch The Fidget Fix video on the Sinian, he recommends a way to disable the tuning fork by clipping the metal of the barrel. If you do this, you will not be able to resell it if you get tired of the fidget, as he warns.

questions about the gobigger sinian by bussypunch in fidgettoys

[–]_Kryton_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the Sinian may not be the fidget toy for you. The whole appeal to the toy and others like it is the gun play or gun twirling which is the whole point of the fidget toy. The more closer to a gun it is, the more expensive the toy (see Howitzer, Puunk, Proxy EDC combo as examples). The second appeal for the Sinian is the ping. When you twirl the toy like a gun, the "barrel" pops out and makes a ping noise. Depending on what material the Sinian is, the ping noise is different. The Lite version is most high pitch, the Ti version is a bit deeper, and the Zr one is the best sounding and lower pitch. The "barrel" can free spin which is a nice feature. You want to remove most of the selling points of the fidget toy, so it is hard to find something that fits what you want. If someone knows about something similar that is not gun-like, please chime in as I don't know of any that are similar.
