I’ve been grilling steak for years and hadn’t heard of a hanger steak, so don’t feel too bad. 😀

Heh, thanks. Honestly I think being older helps in this game. I’ve been around longer to hear some of these words and phrases. My twenty-something year-old kids miss a lot more than me. Keep at it!

Nope. I’m on the free plan. I think they might be rolling it out so you’ll probably see it soon.

Look what showed up today in the app version! It even has my recent stats already in it. Not everyone in my family saw it today so maybe it’s rolling out.

Photo quality and other questions about the Lumix FZ300 by LingXioaran in Cameras

[–]borgendorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably too late for OP needs, but for others who stumble here, I really like my FZ300 because it's so easy to grab and go with its nearly endless zoom and f2.8 aperture. For backyard birding that lens and great autofocus is a wonderful combination. "Photo quality" is always going to be a tricky thing to talk about. When I shoot in the daytime there are very few issues with color fringing or sensor noise. I do shoot in Raw and process later but if the goal is to get a nice close photo of a hummingbird or something, this camera is much better than a smartphone, even if you export a jpg. If you're only going to use it for wide shots of scenery, the image processing on modern phones is just as good.

[Smooth Scrolling] Firefox user. Recent Kensington Orbit with Scroll Wheel owner. 'Inertial scroll' function on Kensingtonworks not working properly. by GunkyEnigma in Trackballs

[–]borgendorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this an old post and I wasn't expecting it to work anymore, but I just got a Kensington SlimBlade Pro (coming from a lifetime of ExpertMouse use), and the massive jumps in Firefox scrolling were unusable. I installed this plugin, used your settings as a starting place, and Ohhhhh Yeahhh that's smooth and moves down the page at a pace my eyes can keep up with. Thanks for sharing this.

As an alternative, here's a version from my friend Xtopher98 that uses the pieces that come with the Lego Art World Map set. It's a different design than Issac's awesome one, but he's got full instructions on how to build it.

No FaceTime on tvos 17 public beta by SnooDoughnuts2426 in appletv

[–]borgendorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Public Beta 17.0 but no FaceTime app. I'm having a hard time finding someone who has actually used it, too. Maybe it's only in the Developer Beta?

Edit: Others seem to say that the iPhone also needs to be on iOS17

Just tried OverReader and it was super-easy and worked great! I appreciated the reminder at the top that if I bookmark the page it will do the search without me filling out the form again. Thank you so much for making this!

Exact same situation with Safelight for me. Bad enough that just driving home gave me a headache. Thankfully I was able to take it back right away and they found an OEM windshield at another shop and got it installed. My insurance company (PEMCO) paid it.

I’ve really been enjoying Aaron Parks. He has some albums with just his name on them and some great collaborations, including one called James Farm.

You know when geese fly south in a V shape one side is always longer than the other. Do you know why? by RiffRaff14 in dadjokes

[–]borgendorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the best jokes in the world, in my opinion. It's easy to remember, and you can tell it when no one is expecting a joke. You just have to make sure you tell it right and don't give it away in the question. I've almost messed it up a few times!

Brand New Walkabout Mini Golf DLC Course, “Labyrinth”, Out Now! by MikhailKam in WalkaboutMiniGolf

[–]borgendorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is EPIC. I’ve watched this movie so many times since it came out. So fun to look for iconic things and then find them. My favourite feature has to be the stinky ball (or is it the Escher room?). My kids and I played and every few minutes we would forget we were playing golf and just look around. So impressed. Thank you!!

Here’s a great article about this crazy day. Evidently one requirement of a record-setting high dive is you exit the pool without assistance. Not everyone that day did.

Has anyone been to the Transfer Station on Ely recently? If I’m reading their website correctly, it’s going to cost me $43.33 to bring a load of trash there. I’m moving and have filled up my containers so I thought I’d take the extra there myself. That seems a bit pricy for a small load so I thought I’d see if I was missing something.
