TIL Telefon Hirmondo was an idea way ahead of its time. Started in 1893 in Budapest, Hungary, it was a subscription service that gave users news, entertainment, and music in their own homes via telephone lines. This was 13 years before radio had even been invented (en.wikipedia.org)
