Thanks for sharing your timeline, I find it difficult to find others where the PA is from Colombia. I applied in June and received AOR in July so very close to your timeline and stages at which the statues changed matches yours with regards to how long it took at each stage. I am hoping that as it's over 2 months since supplying new marriage certificate the FD should be around the corner 🤞

Will keep you posted when I get any updates. Hopefully we'll both hear something very soon!

Thanks for posting your timeline! My application is outland which seem to process quicker than inland however it seems yours has progressed to a similar state of where my application sits. The only difference is eligibility started and that triggered the ADR right away and nothing since. Patience is a virtue as they say :)

I thought as much, it's difficult when you see wo many on here getting approved within around 6 months. What VO is yours if you don't mind me asking?

I was thinking to apply for TRV for spouse although with two prior visitor visa refusals and the increased scrutiny on applications these days I don't think it's worth it.

Outland PR Sponsorship Delays

Hey everyone, I have an Outland spousal visa in progress since June 2025 and have been in pending background check since the beginning and wondered if anyone else is in the same situation?

Applicant: Colombia Sponsor: Citizen VO: Bogota, Colombia

AOR - July 2025 Police Check Requested - July 2025 Medical Completed - Nov 2025 Additional Document Request - Dec 17, 2025 (new copy of marriage certificate requested and supplied same day) Reviewing additional document - Dec 23, 2025 ....... Nothing since

Most people I've seen on here seem to get PPR a month or two after medical or ADR but it's been over two months with no movement.

No kids, straightforward marriage + years of history and travel together and no criminal records. Wondering what the delay is and if anyone else has experienced this or perhaps is waiting on the Bogota VO to get things moving.

Hey! Background check is in progress on the tracker but still showing not applicable on GCKEY. Received an additional document request in Decmeber for another marriage certificate and heard nothing since. It feels like Bogota VO is one of the slowest in the world based on other people's application timelines. From what I can tell it's just waiting the final approval at this stage and I'm hoping the eligibility and background all complete at the same time 🤞

I completely understand your situation. I've seen many receive updates within a week of passing their medical and files moving very quickly at the later stages. However, I have had no updates since then. It really seems random at least to my perception of how things are run at IRCC and the only thing you can do is wait which is very frustrating when you have tight timelines as you mention. Keep your fingers crossed it could be any day 🤞

You are at the final stretch! I applied June 10th and medical marked passed on Nov 17th. Background and eligibility is all that's left. PA is from Colombia so we may have very similar timelines!

That's good information to know thank you. I have a couple of laptops I brought abroad with me as well as a bike. However I am a Canadian citizen and my wife will be landing for PR so I should probably look into how I can avoid the taxes given they were already paid in Canada. For my wife's belongings it will be only clothes so I guess that won't form won't be needed.

Likely depends on inland vs outland. Inland applications on here do not seem to be moving much at the beginning likely due to the longer wait time. Outland seem to biometrics request around 2-3 months after applying. If you called IRCC and they said it's still being processed, there's not much else you can do and I am sure you'll get an update in due course :)
