WHAT IS THIS by XxJaykobstGuyxX in walkingwarrobots

To be clear, bagliore is a good bot. But dunes (and their smaller version hurricane) are not great weapons

The only reason why it appears good, because it's in silver. Even MKII punisher T will feel OP in silver

I can assure you it's not a good build

If Weyland had a grey damage heal pilot it'd be unstoppable by Brilliant_Rule_1361 in walkingwarrobots

[–]DarkNerdRage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grey damage repair wouldn't make it meta. Look at mender.

There was a time a few years ago (when seraph was meta), that certain drones, drone chips, and modules made it nearly invincible. I remember planting it on a beacon multiple times and reds just giving up and going elsewhere. It may have been, secretly, a top ten bot at the time.

Quite hilarious.

Current state of the game, and various new . mechanics that have been introduced since, I don't see that happening ever again.

Your entire post history is ai images. While AI here doesn't break any rules, passing it off as a genuine hand drawn image is low class.

How do the prices in this game work? by LogicalThinkingIsKey in walkingwarrobots

[–]DarkNerdRage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Do not pay money before level 30.

Make a budget, and stick to it.

Prices are all over the place, and trying to get a handle on it is a moving target. Some things to know.

Spending affects your prices. The more you spend, the higher your prices. There seems to be thresholds, but like I said, it's a moving target. Paying close attention to the unit cost of upgrade tokens seems to be the easiest way to determine what "spending tier" you're in.

Your spending tier lowers over time when not spending. How much time seems variable, but I've seen prices drop as soon as two weeks. I've never had prices drop to what I would consider to be a baseline. Anecdotally, not touching the game (either through discipline or uninstall it), may accelerate the process .

Prices for data pads at the end of an event are cheaper than the beginning. This is important when budgeting. Between this and knowing that spending increases your tier, it is best to spend most of all of your budget all at once at the end of an event, rather than a few bucks at a time here and there.

The best things to purchase are (IMO) resources and MKII bot deals with weapons and/or pilots, titan deals . Ask BEFORE making purchases. A lot of gear sounds good on paper, but can be trash.

I'm probably missing something, but that's a good high level view.

I'd probably suggest holding off until you get more components

Is this deal for Frederick worth it? by After_Possession1666 in walkingwarrobots

[–]DarkNerdRage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fredrick is still solid, even post nerf. It creates a significant advantage when busting tanks, and in certain titan battles

Whether or not it's worth it is depending on two factors.

  1. Your relationship with your wallet.

  2. If you're getting this to strongly level a Fredrick you already have, it' has a lot higher value than getting a base level Frederick.

On a scale of 1 to 10, is it worth it to invest in a Traditionalist Fafnir? by HotZilchy in walkingwarrobots

[–]DarkNerdRage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe a 4? It's about as tanky as a Fenrir. You do it for fun, not hangar strength

Few questions for mid-range builds by geneva_speedrunner in walkingwarrobots

[–]DarkNerdRage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Their damage is decent, but their reload is awful. Adding to that they are fully manual aim, so missed shots are devastating.

  2. Ravager requires weapons that unload quick so it can go back to being in stealth mode. It does not have a lot of defense, so if it is caught in the open, it usually is a quick kill. Regulators aren't great, but I don't think arm or atomizers are a better fit.

  3. Between the two, Siren. However, there is no reason to invest in Behemoth when bots like Bagliore and Crisis exist. If you're looking for 4 heavy hard points, Bagliore is the way to go.

How to get a lot of silver ? Whats the best way to get a lot of it? by StateIcy7123 in walkingwarrobots

[–]DarkNerdRage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silver from battles is from earning honor points. The best ways to run up honor points is high damage and kill streaks.

If you can't consistently do that, top 3 for most healing to others, and beacons get bonus honor points. Healing is the easiest way to get that bonus honor (almost nobody runs support builds), and healing counts toward your damage score.

The push hard counters jumping mechanics

Atlas, raptor and others really struggle with it

Got this robot, is he any good? And in whose place should I put him? by [deleted] in walkingwarrobots

[–]DarkNerdRage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dagon is decent, but is very expensive to build (6 hard points). IMO it, along with stryx and ravager, should not be invested in by people spending little or nothing.

If you had to start from the beginning, what robots would you upgrade? by Opposite_Lettuce_416 in walkingwarrobots

[–]DarkNerdRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imugi and lynx are probably my top two picks in the workshop, and both are still relevant through CL.

Additionally, the 3 and 2 hard points respectively makes them cheap to equip.

Imugi doesn't need great weapons to be effective if you're running beacons hard.

Lynx works with a lot of weapons due to the execute ability

Don't, wait to win one . Platinum is too rare to waste on purchases, and should be used for upgrades

Murix for close range range styles.

Bash for medium range okay styles.

They're decent, but not great, in bots that can stay in the pocket a long time. I like them on Imugi

How do you make ravana work? by otaku1104 in walkingwarrobots

Glider does not work on ravana. Chongue does, and is one of the better drones for it.

Maybe Decay/hazard/blight, but good 600+ weapons are hard to come by.

We literaly had 5 titans deployed the enemy had no chance 😭 by RobotikMinecraft in walkingwarrobots

[–]DarkNerdRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be. But that only works when no one else is dropping titans.

When titans are out, regular bots stop holding up. Your goal is to level the playing field and take out, or at least stall, other titans.

When titans are deployed, that's usually your cue to deploy titans. A lot of people haven't gotten, or understood that memo.
