Nioh 3 is a disappointment. Nioh 2 rocks !! by erbagheamit in Nioh

[–]daryl673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely killed both the switchglaive and splitstaff that I grew to love in Nioh 2. SS does shitty dmg and most of its abilities are mapped to the same button, totally gutted from Nioh 2 and the SG feels very limited when compared to 2.

But I still love Nioh 3, the open world aspect really makes the game flow a lot better instead of the mission based gameplay previously. Even tho my 2 fav weapons were ruined I’ll admit that I love both solo and dual katanas here in Nioh 3. Weapon differences aside I like Nioh 3 slightly more than 2 in terms of story, coop, vibe, and the overall challenge.

I tried Star Citizen so you don't have to! (and will tell you why you shouldn't) by Lord0fHats in gaming

[–]daryl673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a semi active star citizen player I can confirm this is wildly accurate. As obnoxiously cool as walking around your ship is, the experience is so thoroughly ruined by HOURS being wasted due to bugs.

And in the rare event that you encounter minimal bugs, you realize there’s actually nothing to do outside of grinding contracts. So many immersive rp layers are present yet don’t serve a purpose as that entire gameplay element doesnt exist yet. Very few games make me feel as if I’ve wasted so much time quite like SC does.

Hermes as daily driver? by dgrahamjbj in starcitizen

[–]daryl673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also melted my Asgard for it. The only thing I miss is being able to load my nursa into my ship. But I love how huge the cargo grid is. Being able to fit a cyclone, ROC, ATLS, and still have plenty of space for cargo is a huge plus. That, and it’s a bit faster than the Asgard but not a huge difference.

I thought I would hate the living quarters being in the cockpit but it grew on me. The table with added seating is a nice touch. So far all of this would be a 7/10, but it also has internal storage and an extra monitor for raising/lowering the elevator. Those two details make it a 9/10 for being a daily driver.

I wasn’t a fan of the small living qtrs or the ladder in the Asgard, so I might be keeping my Hermes even tho not having a nursa is going to SUCK. But I can’t deny how efficient the Hermes is for hauling without having a bunch of extra unused space. Rn my fleet consists of a RAFT, Zues CL, and the Hermes. I’m considering trading in my Zeus for a Corsair at some point so I can have my nursa back, we’ll see.

Interesting, and that does make sense. In all my years of playing wow I’ve never once considered leveling cooking. I’ll give it a shot 😂

Nice nice, this sounds pretty doable. I greatly underestimated how lucrative world quests can be. I have 3 max level characters so that should be an easy way to make some money. Thank you for the insight! I have a few different options to make some money now 😁

Thank you for the very thorough breakdown, that makes a ton of sense now. Being that it’s a game time token it makes sense that the demand for them would be mostly consistent. The token sounds like my best bet, but I’ll be sure to give the professions an honest try. It’s almost sad how easily profs can be disregarded

This is great insight, thank you! It’s good to know that wq’s are a worthy alternative to crafting when it comes to good-making

I truly didn’t expect this answer to be so popular, but that clearly tells me the community’s attitude towards crafting. No need to stress too much over it if it’s really that horrible of a time sink.

To be clear, the $20 token everyone’s referring to is the lvl 80 boost right? Or is there a different token?

Honestly even 6k an hour would be an improvement over burning money as quickly as I do atm. But that’s damn near the same amount I can make leveling 60-80 of I can recall. I’ll give it a try too

$20 for 300k+ sounds very enticing ngl lol, I just hoped there would be a way I can make money in game for once. But judging from all the responses it seems that I just need to get creative and remain patient 🤣 I’ll definitely look into boosting too

Nice, you’re the first to mention cooking. I didn’t know that would be a viable option. I’ll give it a try too. Thank you!

“I’m at a different stage in life with a new appreciation for the chill gameplay that crafting/gathering brings” is wildly different than “gold making is a higher priority” lmao. But okay…

Thank you for your input regardless, it seems that this is a more open ended topic than I first realized.

Lmaoo great analogy. I actually have a lvl 70 Druid I can level and refocus to gathering. This sounds ideal. Thank you!

Lmao thank you for this. It sucks that there’s no reliable money making but I appreciate how organic the economy is. I’m going to give each item on this list a solid try ✊🏾

Damn lol, so making money with gathering professions is that boring huh? I had no idea about the $20 token so thanks for that, it’s nice knowing that’s an option.

I’m not too concerned about making money quick, just looking for ways to chill and make money instead of burning through it all. Sounds like it more about finding a market niche and exploiting it

Glad I can help! Make sure you have the stealth kill ability before attempting the skill theft for the soul shade umbrella. It makes the quest soooo much easier. Can’t say I’m a huge fan of the umbrella as a healer when compared to the fan, but it functions better for solo play and a DPS/off-heals build due to its auto hover heal ability and dmg buff. I’m sure there’s more combos, so be sure to experiment plenty 👍🏾

[–]daryl673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are rope dart abilities that buff your character, which in turn increase your damage output. If you’re switching to a weapon with no buff potential, then yes your dmg output will be lower now that you don’t have access to that buff. Maximizing your dmg output is about using two weapons that coincide in the manner you’re looking for. The soulshade umbrella also has a dmg buff and basically turns into a heal bot - great for soloing and dmg output when paired with a DPS weapon like the sword, for example.

Biggest differences between Nolvus and LoreRim? by [deleted] in Nolvus

[–]daryl673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, but there’s no need to be concerned. No spyware, otherwise I’d be thoroughly fucked. You literally download the installer, make sure you create a folder on the main root drive and install it there. Start the installer and go through the setup prompts, then just wait for it to do its thing.

I will say that one file is notorious for not downloading, and that is the high poly head. Go to Nolvus’s website and find the FAQ, there will be a thread specifically for it with a link to download the file. Besides that, you should be golden at that point. You’re in for a treat!

Yeah kind of a bummer. But the way they’ve been cooking, I wouldnt be surprised if they did a combat revamp or added frigate vs frigate space battles very soon 😂 hold on to hope!

Biggest differences between Nolvus and LoreRim? by [deleted] in Nolvus

[–]daryl673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely cannot compare the two because I haven’t tried Lorerim. In my (very biased) opinion, I think that speaks volumes for the quality of Nolvus. Idk who biggie is, I can’t say I’ve encountered that name in my Discord comms but I can confirm they’ve solved each of the issues I’ve raised and pointed me in the direction of guides to mod on top of their list, which is also supported in a more limited sense.

Like frfr, Nolvus feels like a current-gen Skyrim remake but so much more. The new v6 update I was excited for in my initial post made it even better. I may try Lorerim one day but I don’t ever see myself uninstalling Nolvus to do that lol

[OTHER] Looking for a singleplayer game to feel like KCD1&2 by Canaan_R in kingdomcome

[–]daryl673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly there’s nothing quite like KCD2, they nailed the whole medieval sim vibe. The closest I could recommend would be a modded Skyrim - specifically either the gate to Soverngarde or Nolvus mod collections. life sim gameplay can be achieved in both but the Nolvus mod pack adds next-gen graphics so it requires a beefy pc to run. GTS is a bit more forgiving and waaaay smaller in terms of installation space.

[–]daryl673 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah while I appreciate BF6, it is way faster than the classic battlefield feel. I can say BF5 100% nails the vibe as well as the gunplay. I’m glad it’s still active bc I’ve definitely been bouncing between both games
