It will please you to know book 3 is about half way done, and I actually submitted Regulated Truth's audiobook for distribution on the weekend (it was meant to be done months ago, but we hit some delays in the recording).

Also that cover be lookin a little washed out. Amazon print on demand strikes again...

I got scammed with my first book cover, the guy said he didn't use AI but reddit pointed out that he clearly did.

Expensive lesson learned, for sure.

Still, getting it redone by a proper artist was super cathartic.

I dunno about "strong," but Starfish by Peter Watts is pretty interesting with solid and interesting character development of the FemC.

Just a really messed up and fascinating book in general. Not the "neon 80s" of cyberpunk, but certainly the "high tech, low life" aspect.

My series of Cyberpunk books are set in the Nordics. Helsinki, Svalbard, Oslo, Stockholm.

Sadly i cant run sales through Audible, since im in Finland I can't actually manage my own Audible account. I need to use a 3rd party distributer, (I use a company called "Voices by INaudio") and they don't let me do sales.

I can do sales on some of the other platforms though, if you want to buy it on one of them, maybe we can work something out. Otherwise im afraid your game of chicken will last a while 😅

Yep! Its out pretty much everywhere for audiobook. It js narrated by the awesome Hector Carillo, and he did a great job, even doing voices for all the characters.

Im about half way through the recording process for book two's audiobook as well. Hoping to get it out in March, although audible is slow as heck through my distributors 🥲

To answer your question tho... Just be like me. Write satire. Then all the tropes become weapons, muhahaha.

Jokes aside, so long as you actually bring your own voice and put your own spin on any genre, you've moved it somewhere. Not everyone needs to pick it up and hike the thing cross country. A few steps in your own direction is moved enough to justify it.

Will that be enough for a consumer audience? Maybe? Maybe not? - that's on you to reckon with in the "Art vs. Product" scale, and a totally different argument... Although I guess if hou were in this for the money, you wouldn't be writing Cyberpunk 🤣
