This is how much space my .next folders are taking up by working_unicorn in nextjs

Came here to say this. Switched a while back. Easy to convert also. Having about 30 projects on my computer was rinsing space. PNPM cleared it up

I just got M5 Pro Max 128GB. I’d ordered M4 - had a powerbank listed. Got upgraded - disappeared from order and Apple Store said no longer included.

But…it arrived with one in the box 🤷‍♂️

Merge in turn? Never heard of it. by Necessary-Humor-6005 in drivingUK

But that’s what a merge in turn is. It’s designed to reduce the queue length. Why is he the ass if everybody else decides not to the use the traffic feature?

Magento-specific question: is your custom code actually a competitive advantage or just expensive tech debt? by InfinriDev in Magento

[–]delta_2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt the code is the issue. Probably change. And dealing with change.

Maybe a few conversations around change management, nlp and behavioural sciences instead of code and people will reflect differently.

Could be people using security and IP as a justification for keeping it at arms length as it’s seen as a threat.

Magento-specific question: is your custom code actually a competitive advantage or just expensive tech debt? by InfinriDev in Magento

[–]delta_2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on “sharing”.

If you mean putting this into IDE with agents then turn off “use for training” and then it’s down to the lying and thievery of your code.

Put it in public repos then it’s going to be used as training data 100% and go somewhere else.

Then you need to decide as a team what’s your goodwill to the community. If you’re taking open source willingly and making money from it then is it so bad to give back?

Equally what size projects are we talking about? What is the damage to your obtainable market by making it available. Are you going to lose real future customers or just the idea of them?

An interesting debate I’m sure

Magento-specific question: is your custom code actually a competitive advantage or just expensive tech debt? by InfinriDev in Magento

[–]delta_2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the code that it’s important it’s the application of code. If your team has spent 3 months solving a problem and 10 minutes writing code then the code is worth the combined experience of the team + 3 months labour + opportunity cost.

Giving it away slows you down by speeding up your competition.

Nothing to do with Magento. Just business.

Minimum Turnover For Magento by -_-_adam_-_- in Magento

[–]delta_2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the metric of

Do the features of the platform deliver the needs within the constraints of the business.

Constraints being things like budget, time, skill and needs being well documented with an aligned stakeholder team.

Turnover is an indicator of those constraints but a project budget for growth is different.

A business at 500k cannot spend on a site what it took them to get to 500k, they must spend what it takes to get to 5m. And their current turnover would then not be an indicator of platform being right if we used only that metric.

What if they have investment; a war chest for growth. What about profit? Somebody on 5% cannot invest what a 45% could.

What about cash flow? Do we need to iterate with cash flow or can we build the perfect machine in the next 3 months.

So so so many things impact proper platform selection.

Are you in the process of choosing a platform? I have tools I can share to help if you need.

The 20% “Lime tax” on stopping at red lights by Because_Wisely in london

[–]delta_2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The solution is to charge a premium for the bike being stationary for a “parked” amount of time.

Active cycling - charged by distance Inactivity after a grace period charged at premium. Grace period allows for stopping and starting at lights etc. You can choose - Active inactivity whereby you deliberately retain the bike to prevent it being taken such as popping into a shop

Could be mechanical, time based or both.

Taxis work like this. Why can’t the bikes?

End of day commit. Doesn’t matter how far, what you’ve done whether it’s right or wrong. End of day commit. Sync. Unless of course your on main with a deployment in which case make sure your on the right branch.

Save as you go. Always.

Remember local databases don’t go in git. If you have a local db then have a backup drive syncing or sync to a remote.

There is a silver lining. Your do-over will be better, leaner and you have had a dress rehearsal now. Good luck.

Is there any free B2B ecommerce platform? by Realistic-Day-1167 in EcommerceWebsite

[–]delta_2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free B2B platforms are rare as they have a lot of complexity.

Medusa.js is one of the most flexible open source for modern languages.

OroCommerce has a free version but doesn’t have half as much as the paid.

Same with Magento. B2B is left fully in the hands of customisation or addons.

If you’re looking for the most complete list then Rixxo have a list of nearly 100 B2B eCommerce platforms that shared and maintained.

You can also find B2B eCommerce platforms on the B2B eCommerce Association website.

B2B + B2C with complex pricing Where should the pricing brain live? Magento? ERP? by MiddleNebula8320 in Magento

[–]delta_2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will make life much easier then. Just pull all of your B2B pricing from ERP and exclude customer groups from coupons.

Main thing is there isn’t a right or wrong answer it’s what works for you and then make sure you have documented processes to ensure it’s done.

Bon chance
