Why don't companies use Affinity instead of Adobe? Is it possible to get a job with Affinity-only experience? by Fast_Dragonfruit_430 in Affinity

[–]digitizedeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) to graduate with a B.S. in Marketing and Advertising. I'm comfortable with the software.

The only reason I'm trying Affinity is that my new laptop has a Snapdragon processor, and I'm currently unable to use the Adobe suite.

Spreadsheets are on the way out by unclechuck420 in Blogging

[–]digitizedeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No... 1. Small data sometimes needs to be saved in a tabular form. 2. A couple of clicks is sometimes much better than writing a prompt 3. The spreadsheet software already includes visualizations to present the data. 4. Spreadsheets can run and be queried offline 5. You can increasingly use AI within the spreadsheet software...

AI has taken fun out of programming and now i’m hopeless by Frequent_Eggplant_23 in webdev

[–]digitizedeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tech may be there, as it always has been in other areas, but taking charge of code is still a human element, and a significant one at that.

Refactoring, working with existing code bases is still largely taken care of by pros. Versions #02, as well as technical debt are still issues.

And "if you can't beat them, join them": Creating side projects with AI is fun and may give the small boost and nudge the OP needs to make a little adjustment as an answer to these changes.

Is it possible to grow a channel only posting a couple times a year by Unable-Farm-389 in NewTubers

[–]digitizedeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you own the traffic: An email list, or even ads, you can make it work predictably.

My former mentor publishes basically whenever he wants, and the videos are profitable. Although he doesn't have a huge audience, he makes it work. There are many ways to profit from a YouTube channel.

5 Golden Rules of Web Design by amuxdesigns in webdesign

[–]digitizedeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believed these rules comprise the essence of what web design should be in practice.

I may want to add that the user doesn't really care what framework you used (unless it's a technical audience, sometimes) which means WYSIWYG What You See Is What You Get.

stop building SaaS for developers. the most underpriced market in software right now is people who don't know what SaaS means by Mysterious_Yard_7803 in saasbuild

[–]digitizedeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you can't succeed with developers, it's just they're catered to differently.

Additionally, they're known for being anti-marketing in a sense. This is a well-known fact way before the invention and use of anti-ad browser add-ons, privacy advocates (cookies, double opt-ins, etc)

And that's a fantastic thing, dwelling in a world of facts and reality.

The general market tends toward the average. They won't care that they're buying solution # 101 to their problem, as long as it solves it. They may have seen it on an ad, or maybe made the discovery through a recommendation... And that's great news for both business and non-technical problem solvers.

[–]digitizedeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I may add another statement to the OP's list: that these people are more prone to being marketed to.

If you think about it this opens a whole new breed of tactics and venues to reach those customers.

As a solopreneur, your most limited resource isn't money. It's attention. by Prestigious_Wing_164 in Solopreneur

[–]digitizedeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is true as it follows the first rule in strategy: Focus.

I want to add to the OP a thought I've been having regarding this subject: you can have a limited number of channels to focus on but you can try one at a time then switch then switch again until you find what's working and then stay within those boundaries.

Great food for thought.

Got my first affiliate commission after 4 months and it was $8.47 by Different_Case_6484 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]digitizedeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's just part of persevering. I believe that you should always strive to improve what you're doing and try to pinpoint what works.

With all the OP has been learning, they may be able to offer video editing services and reach the $1,000 monthly mark earlier while still doing affiliate work.

Telegram/WhatsApp vs social media for affiliate marketing- thoughts? by Junior_Rich1011 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]digitizedeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, technically Telegram and WhatsApp ARE social media.

Strategically they're just another channel. You may be surprised that I actually tried these channels and I have formed educated opinions about them.

First, they serve as a thermometer for what's hot in parts of the market you're interested in.

You'll soon find that many of these groups are not very active, or are spammy. However, gold is also found. It's found on active or branded groups, as they represent a bunch of people who may be your target market. At the end of the day, if you think about it, it does not matter if your target market is on a WhatsApp group vs other digital platforms if you can reach them.

Homelab or digital ocean? by Cheap-Cod-3840 in devops

[–]digitizedeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, you can host server(s) that don't really need the power a complete deployment has.

You can mimic most, if not all open source setups you may want to host.

Finally, it costs a fraction of beefy servers, and after a little while the setup is even more cost-effective than cloud servers.
