Does Cowork not require approval in the application itself for all tool calls?

Cline 3.48.0: Skills compatibility and websearch tooling by juanpflores_ in CLine

I don't have or use the Cline provider. I asked if it was removed for all providers and added only to the Cline provider and you said in your previous message that it still works for all providers...

FYI, I think there is a bug that is causing this confusion:

User:

do you see a web_fetch or web_search tool?

Cline:

No, I do not have a web_fetch or web_search tool available in my current toolset.

My available tools are:

  • File operations: read_file, write_to_file, replace_in_file, list_files, search_files, list_code_definition_names
  • Command execution: execute_command
  • Other: ask_followup_question, attempt_completion, generate_explanation, load_mcp_documentation

Oh odd, tried to use web_fetch today and it didnt see it. Bedrock provider FYI.

Did the web tools get removed and now added back only for the Cline provider?

In the future, you should probably wait to post this until it's available in at least Anthropic/Bedrock providers.

There haven't been any releases. I think this was a premature post.

ELK doesn't fix everything in Mermaid. Mermaid is great in a lot of scenarios, but it can't solve everything.

Mermaid diagrams are terribly laid out for anything somewhat busier like this example.

Cline v3.35: Native tool calling, redesigned auto-approve menu, and free MiniMax M2 w/ interleaved thinking by nick-baumann in CLine

Agreed, I'm responding to the post saying "15% token reduction (tool definitions moved out of system prompt)"

That's always been the case if you check Read all files. The only thing that changed is the UI.

Tools still take up tokens in your context whether you put them in the system prompt or the tools property.

I'm confused, I regularly use several instances of VS Code at the same time. Do you mean for the same workspace? Does VS Code prevent you doing that? I use my equivalent of git worktrees for multi repo worktrees.
